Zenga style conical summer teabowl with a attractive Jun glaze over stoneware with calligraphy on the exterior of the bowl; SEI DAI JI and then in a column, DAI Chawan (great chawan). This chawan was made at the Seidaiji temple and is reminiscent of earlier Chinese temmoku and yuteki chawan in form with a Jun glaze that has a visually soft and appealing appearance.
This chawan is stamped as well as signed and is in fine condition with out a box and measures 5.5" x 2.5".
Large kaku-gata squared teabowl form with a tetsu-yu over a temmoku glaze. The form and foot are both cut square to compliment each other.

Elegant Shino lugged vase by veteran potter, Ando Hidetake (b. 1938). Thrown and then paddled ovoid, this simple tea ceremony vase was made of Mino mogusa clay and once stiff, the foot was hand carved to produce a fitting oval foot to compliment the form. There are wispy traces of iron under the crisp white Shino glaze meant to insinuate grasses and stemmed flowers in an ethereal Momoyama ink painting inspired manner...
Double gourd form tokkuri, bottle with rich temmoku and tetsu-yu glazes. The foot is glazed and the remains of wad impressions are present on the foot, but smooth to the touch.
