This is a rare painting on shikishi board by famous Kyoto artist Tokuriki Tomikichiro. He was best known for his prints, but was originally trained as a painter. An early work by the important Shino potter Katō Yasukage XIV 14 代加藤康景 (1964-2012), made as Katō Masaharu 加藤正治, a name he used before ascending to a family name in 2001. A twelve petal chrysanthemum is depicted on the lid. Titled Shino Incense Container (Shino kōgō 志野香合), it is made of glazed stoneware, and is 3.4 x 5.8 x 5.6 cm.
