Here is an exceptional necklace and earrings set from Antonio Pineda, circa mid-century. Collector quality.

This set is a book-piece design, shown in Gobi Stromberg's "Silver Seduction : The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda."

The design is known as "Crossing Arches with Teardrop Amethysts", and it's a heavy modernist design which is hand-wrought with superb craftsmanship. The necklace has seven teardrop amethysts dangling beneath the crossed arches...

This is a very early work from Sigi Pineda, and dates to the early 1950's when he first opened his own shop. The shop was named "Plateros", later renamed "Sigi".

It's an amazing piece, with three huge red coral branches in a modernist setting which is sterling silver with 14k gold plated over it. The gold is perfect and even throughout, both front and back. The coral measures from 2 1/4" to 2 1/16"...

Circa pre-1948, this coiled snake necklace is the early work of "CEL". I seldom come across pieces by this artisan, but the few I have had are all in the same folk art style of Matilde Poulat, as is this design. Like produced in Mexico City, this necklace is in superb vintage condition.

Composed of alternating spiral and coiled links, the closure is a turquoise jeweled snake head and tail which joins together. You can wear it with the snake at center front, or on the side...

Circa 1930's - 1940's, here is a huge early hand-wrought Mexican modernist bracelet. Hallmarked simply "Silver Mexico", it's a book-piece design seldom seen, originally created by Frederick Davis and shown in the Morrill/Berk book "Mexican Silver". No maker's mark on this one. Four large amethyst cabochons with quartz marbling and natural inclusions sit between oval silver tubes with silver balls at each end...

Circa 1940-1945, this bracelet is a book piece design produced by Hector Aguilar at the Taller Borda, known as "Six Spheres". It's a spectacular piece, wide and substantial, and it drapes over the wrist with a luxurious feel. Shown in bookplate III-88, page 130, of the Penny C. Morrill book “Silver Masters of Mexico”. Measures 7 7/8” without the tongue portion of the clasp. Closed, wearable length is about 7 1/4”. Width is 1 5/8”. Clasp is a tight and secure tongue in box...

Circa mid-century, this is a killer bracelet from Margot de Taxco. In absolutely pristine collector quality condition, complete with all nine charms.

It's a book-piece design shown on p. 63 of Penny C. Morrill's "Margot Van Voorhies : The Art of Mexican Enamelwork". The cherubs are highly detailed, with exquisite repoussé silver work.

Circa 1940's, this is a spectacular necklace from Marcel Boucher. It's hand-wrought and extremely substantial, weighing in at 158.2 grams, or over 5 troy ounces.

Boucher was born in Paris, and apprenticed with Cartier. He has a reputation of being perhaps the greatest costume jewelry designer. In the 1940's, he produced silver jewelry in Mexico under the name Parisina. In 1957, he opened his business in New York.

This is a truly luxurious necklace...

Circa 1950's, this belt buckle is was produced by Antonio Pineda. I have never seen this one before, and it's quite similar to one which William Spratling designed. Antonio Pineda began his career working for William Spratling. It's hand-wrought with criss-crossing lines which are deeply carved with oxidized recesses.

Measures 2 5/8" x 15/16"...

Hallmarks date this Hector Aguilar necklace 1948-1962. It's a beautiful heavy hand-wrought necklace in a seldom seen design.

Composed of twenty-two panels which resemble a lyre, executed in .940 silver with a warm patina, this piece is collector quality.

The "Jewels by Antonio" hallmarks dates 1949-1953. This is a book-piece design shown on page 152 of Silver Seduction : The Art of Mexican Modernist Antonio Pineda.

It's a fabulous ring with a huge presence. Size is 8.25. Height on top is just shy of 1/2". 1" wide.

Weight is a substantial 17.3 grams.

Signed and hallmarked "Jewels by Antonio Taxco Mexico", with the design # PP451.

Hallmarks date this William Spratling brick link bracelet to 1940-1944. This design is shown on the Spratling Silver website. It's a hand-wrought bracelet which feels like silk on the wrist. Certainly a timeless design, and one which is understated in both beauty and elegance. Three rows of brick like links with a foldover clasp give this a completely seamless appearance. The silver has a rich warm glow.

This is a spectacular and very rare hand-wrought necklace from Margot van Voorhies Carr / Margot de Taxco, featuring superb repoussé silver work. Opposing Chinese dragons are at the center of this piece, which measures a closed, wearable length of 15 1/2". A variation of this necklace is shown in Penny C. Morrill's book "Margot Van Voorhies: The Art of Mexican Enamelwork".

Signed and hallmarked "Margot de Taxco Sterling Made in Mexico", with the eagle assay 16 and the design # 5243A....

Beautifully detailed in 940 sterling silver this delightful, hand crafted brooch was designed & signed c. 1940-45 by Taxco, Mexico Maestro Hector Aguilar. The "puffy heart" body supports the obsidian head, face and large ears all defined in silver. Pin measures 2 3/4" x 2 1/4" and weighs 50 grams. Beautiful condition and patina. 1/16" scratch on stone. Circa pre-1948, this is a gorgeous bracelet from Fred Davis. It's a modernist design, with exquisite repoussé silver work.

Six turquoise cabochons are nestled within opposing silver "V"s which form diamond shaped panels, tiny silver beads between them. Alternating with these panels are large silver domes. Closure is a tight and secure tongue in box. Recesses are oxidized. This is a bracelet which really shows up beautifully on the wrist.

A delightfully feisty-looking cat is featured in the French Art Nouveau brooch. We’re particularly fond of his enormously long whiskers that stretch the full width of the pin. The pin is stamped with French silver marks and with an illegible maker’s mark.

NOTE: The pin could be worn as a pendant with the addition of a bail to the back.
