A pair of Victorian rolled gold plate dangle drop earrings from the 1890s. These well-made hollow 1-3/4 x 1/2" earrings have an applied bow and four swinging drops each. They are screw-backs and they are unsigned. The backs are rose gold coloured and the earring itself is yellow gold and they may be the original backs (screwbacks were introduced in 1894). This lovely pair is in excellent condition with no cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs...

A scarce World War I era 60" patinated metal and purple cut glass fan or watch chain circa 1915. Unsigned but possibly English, it was common for jewelry at this time to be blackened or patinated so as to avoid flashing and glinting, which could have been seen by the enemy fliers at night. World War I planes were smaller and flew lower, so moonlight reflecting on jewelry allowed people to be seen...
