The fleur de lis (flower of the lily) is a heraldic symbol of French royalty. It is still used in flags and most often in jewelry. It has a prestigious history as a symbol of kings, worn by Crusaders into battle, and an emblem of the flag of St. Joan of Arc. Today it is the symbol of the city of New Orleans and is proudly embraced in the rebuilding efforts.

This delicate white metal chain is studded with bezel-mounted glass faux amethysts. The faceted glass pieces are securely set; there is no clasp. The necklace hangs 15 1/2 inches (in other words, a total 31 inches end to end).

A scarce World War I era 60" patinated metal and purple cut glass fan or watch chain circa 1915. This is typical fine work by Hobe. The leaves and bow are layered. The roses go a step further by having individual petals wrap to form a circle just as real roses do. The semi-triangular plaque with the rectangular bottom marked Hobe, sterling, 1/20 14k, indicates that this brooch is lovely older Hobe dating between 1918 and 1932. 3" long.1 1/2" wide. 1/2" deep.

Here is an English-made whistle of copper-plated brass and base metal, that may have been made for the U.S. market. The front is labeled ‘The Acme/Boy Scouts’ with the English registration number for 1914, and ‘Patent’ underneath. This is a superior piece of Victorian jewelry. The pin is 2 1/4" long and 11/16" wide. The bezel set onyx or black glass Cameo is 1" in diameter. Circa 1910. The gold filled mount is ribbon like with an intricate scroll design. There have been are no cracks, no repairs to this cameo or to the gold filled finding.
