Fabulous signed French necklace in dark silvertone metal with brilliant pink, green, lemon, and colorless glass stones. Fabulous statement making vintage 1970s necklace with a heavy wide openwork snake chain, a huge Bakelite pendant simulating jade with an engraved goldtone coiled element, and glass faux coral and turquoise cabochon stones. The large stone is set in dogtooth prongs. The chain has an engraved end cap. Marked ALICE CAVINESS. The necklace hooks at the pendant to close. Weighty and substantial and drapes beautifully. Beautiful creamy palest yellow ivory Bakelite bangle carved in a stylized bamboo form. Circa 1960. Tests positive for Bakelite. This fine piece is beautiful with its pave-set, clear rhinestones, accented by oval (diamond) shaped, faceted stones. It is both a brooch and a pair of shoe clips. It measures 2 5/8" x 1 5/8". The frame is marked Coro Duette in script and PAT No 1798867. The actual clips are marked PAT 1852188. It is in excellent condition.
