This sleek deco style pendant is from the 1960's and made of 14Kt yellow gold. It is centered by a bezel set 10 X 12 millimeter caboshon oval lapis. The pendant measures 1 3/8" in height and 1 1/8" in width. The weight is 8.5 grams which makes this wonderfully cast pendant relatively heavy for its size. The turtle’s shell is formed as interwoven wide ribbons of textured gold, the intersections prong-set with round brilliant-cut rubies. The eyes are also set with small rubies. A superb and evocative 1-5/8 x 1-3/8" mid-Victorian mourning pin in 14k yellow gold (unmarked but tested). This pin features a carved pink coral hand with black enamel bands on its sleeve, holding a wreath of flowers and leaves. A very fine Victorian tortoise shell pin inlaid with gold and silver in a floral and butterfly pattern. The design is beautifully executed and is a bit more ornate than much piqué work. The inlaid metals are engraved to add even more depth to the design. The tortoise is nicely translucent when held to strong light. The back retains the original pinstem, but the clasp is a replacement.
