A fine pair of vintage 1930s Mexican sterling and natural amethyst screwback earrings. These 1-3/8 x 1" earrings have had their screwbacks mounted over the mark (MEX), but they test as silver and the amethyst cabochons are genuine. A superb 835 silver graduated multi loop chain necklace. This well designed and beautifully finished 21-3/4" long .835 silver necklace has a repeating design of graduated interlocking silver loops. It is constructed from a group of four silver loops encircling the next four, and so on; the loops range from 3/16" to 7/16" across. This beauty is stamped .835 and it has a maker's mark (unidentified). It has a spring-ring clasp, and it weighs 57 grams...

A carefully crafted copy of one of Hubert Harmon's Mexican designs, this fabulous sterling silver and amethyst belt buckle is anonymous yet, as quite often is the case, the lack of a signature does not affect the piece's quality and beauty. Based on the workmanship I suspect this may be a Casa Maya example. Casa Maya issued many of Harmon's designs in brass primarily yet they did make them in sterling as well and quite often pieces in their parures went out in the marked without full hallmarks...

A Mexican version of the classic "giardinetto" jewelry, this set of Matilde Poulat earrings is rather unusual with its all-silver vase that holds the flowers...

Designed in the pre-Columbian style, this sterling silver bracelet is composed of curved openwork panels connected with small pins. It bears the mark of J.N. Jacopo, for the Jacopo brothers of Mexico City and Taxco; it also bears the eagle mark with the number 3. The bracelet has a nice, hefty feel and is of good quality. There is a minor area of metal stress at one link (see Photo #4)...

Large and beautifully crafted Navajo Silver and Turquoise ring, size 8 3/4", measuring 1 3/4" long and 1" wide, and 1 1/4" high from base of band to top of stone. The stone has a lovely caramel and brown matrix, with a deep turquoise green tone. It is signed "sterling" and has a maker's mark that is not clear. A maestro from the middle period of Mexico's 20th c. Silver Renaissance, Carsi is among those Taxco silversmiths about whom we don't really know much. I have had pieces by him a few times over the years and I was pleasantly surprised to have found his signature on the ornate bangle bracelet presented here. This wire-work scrolled heart motif I am used to associating with Arte en Plata, even though I have seen it by other makers or even anonymous in the past...

This quality bracelet in sterling silver and 14K gold measures 6 1/2" x 1/2". Each link is slightly convex and has a floral design. The back is marked SYMMETALIC STERLING + 14K. It is in excellent condition.

It's been a very long time since I offered a Mexican clamper bracelet and I am happy to be starting again with a classic Taxco design, this repousse and shadowbox "Quetzalcoatl" example. The maestro who signs it I am familiar with - he worked in Taxco and it seems that clamper bracelets were one of his favorite forms...

A great collection of three vintage Navajo handmade round sterling boxes with elaborate stamping. All of the lids pull off. The box with the star top measures 2 1/4" diameter, 1 1/8" high and weighs 56 grams. The box with the turquoise stone is 2 1/4" diameter, 3/4" high and weighs 49 grams. The box with the round silver dome is 2 1/4" diameter, 1/2" high and weighs 45 grams. They are unsigned. All are in fine original condition and free of dents or dings...

Circa pre-1940, this set of Matilde Poulat bird pins are signed with her early hallmarks. Collector quality, beautifully hand-crafted, with superb repoussé silver work, this matching pair of doves feature turquoise eyes, with one bird facing left and the other facing right. Absolutely fabulous.

A beautiful and rare 950 silver bracelet with cabochon stones of amethyst,green beryl, pink tourmaline, and citrine by Brazilian jeweler Haroldo Burle Marx who was the brother of Roberto Burle Marx, also a jeweler and notable landscape architect. This bracelet was designed for and sold at The Altomar Collection, which was a small boutique in the Watergate Hotel in Washington D.C. from 1982 until 1999. It measures 5 3/4" around in the inside plus an additional 1 1/4" opening...

This brooch by Matilde Poulat features a large amethyst front and center, with turquoise cabochons and coral branches in a butterfly design with dangles.

Measures 2" tall x 1 1/2" wide. Pin closes with a rolling "C" clasp.

Weight is 11.8 grams.

This sterling silver and enamel bracelet has a Scandinavian feel but no definitive marks. It has five curved panels decorated with abstract sterling designs that are probably raised and surrounded by dotted white enamel. The enamel is in beautiful condition, and the tongue-and-groove clasp is in very good working order. The clasp is marked S.G.M. and sterling. The bracelet measures a little over 6 inches long by 1/2 inch wide.
