This large, sterling silver, pendant is most unusual, c. 1960’s. It measures 2 5/8" x 1 7/8". It is a stylized scale, made of heavy gauge silver. Going along with the abstract motif, the large amber “drop” is more like an amorphous bulb of oranges, yellows, and reds, changing with the lighting. Carved Shell Cameo set in a silver frame with a gold colored rope twist accent. The frame is marked only 800 in an oval and is most likely Italian. The carving is excellent, with highlights of different colors left in the hair. The frame has a pin closure and a moveable bail so it can be worn as a pin or a pendant.
