The hallmark has a double strike with ribbons having a difficult space but is clearly marked. Dimensions are: 20 inches long, each link fits right between the 1 inch mark. The weight is one of the heavier pieces of Spratling ribbons being 120 grams...
There are some pieces of jewelry that simply defy any effort to photograph them. And this stunning Taxco modernist sterling silver and blue spinel hinged bangle is one of them - a really tough one at that too! I have faced this challenge once before in the past and the “culprit” is available here as well, only that one is by Enrique Ledesma and adorned with color-change sapphires...
A vintage hand wrought Sterling Silver necklace and matching pierced earrings in a floral design by the noted Arts and Crafts silversmith, Madeleine Turner. She also worked for Georg Jensen USA later in her career. The markings on this necklace indicate that the set probably had some relationship to her years at Jensen USA.
The necklace measures about 19" long with the center design measuring 2 3/4" wide and 2 1/4" high...

I have never seen cuff links these. They are made of obsidian with an abstract wheel design. The disks have a diameter of just over 1/2". The silver "wheels" are not just applied, they are connected to the back plate which is marked with the eagle, #9 and VALENTIN with a line extending from the top of the V, over all the letters. These unusual cuff links have a good heft and are in excellent condition. I believe they are circa early 1950's.
Signed sterling silver Modernist style ring marked: "ISRAEL 925" and another mark, with a bezel set green cabochon (10x8mm) that looks like Malachite. Clean mid century mod styling.

A fabulous fringed necklace, wearable for day or night, in sterling silver with very big glittering purple openback and unfoiled glass stones in prong settings. Circa 1935. The clasp is marked STERLING and the other elements test positive for sterling. The color is much more intense and slightly warmer than the photos depict. Huge stones, statement necklaces, and the
color purple are all very significant current fashion trends...
Margot van Voorhies Carr designed this pre-Colombian double swirl and her taller Margot de Taxco created this absolute to die for necklace. It is so beautiful it was chosen as the COVER DESIGN for the book WILLIAM SPRATLING AND THE MEXICAN SILVER RENAISSANCE by Penney C. Morrill. Definitely a favorite of mine being 1 14/16th wide (for all intent and purpose you can call it 2 inches wide) and 21in. long. The actual wearable size due to its width is a comfortable 17in...
Lovely sterling silver brooch worked in soft white guilloche enamel and featuring a painted enamel bouquet of blue gentians. The workmanship is very fine. The back is marked "S925S" and retains the original c-clasp which indicates an early date.

Out of Enrique Ledesma’s sterling silver and gemstone line, this modernist Mexican hinged bracelet is adorned with two faceted color-change sapphires. Mimicking the behavior of alexandrites by changing hue under different light conditions, these stones are often referred to as alexandrites themselves but they are in fact synthetic corundum...
