Lushly designed floral sterling and amethyst pin sold by Sanborn's and possibly made by Fred Davis who managed and designed for the store from 1947 through the early 50's, Mexico, c.1950. Pin is signed "bellmark 22", which was Sanborn's number. It measures 2 1/8" long by 1" wide. Excellent condition except that pin was probably changed with lead solder. A very cool Gucci sterling adjustable bracelet circa 1970. It can basically fit any wrist from approximately 6" to 8" by simply pushing in or out on the bracelet knots. Weighing 47 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown. What a fun piece !

The story of this Mexican Deco silver and turquoise hinged bangle is an interesting one. When it came to me, it had a rather hastily applied gold plating that looked both out of place and, should I say?, garish. I cannot understand why anybody would do such a thing yet many a time, in discussions with older bench jewelers, I have been told that a few decades ago this was indeed a trend of sorts...

Heavy sterling silver British ring with a chunk of iron pyrite. The English hallmarks and date this mod ring to 1969. The top of the ring measures about 3/4" in diameter X 5/8" H. The shank is 1/4"W and the ring is a sizable 8.5. It is signed inside the shank AMB which is the maker's mark and hallmarks for London, England and the year 1969. The ring is in excellent condition.

A delightful Imperial Austrian silver brooch set with three reverse-carved Essex crystals by the Imperial jeweler Georg Adam Scheid. The domed pin is finely engraved in a basket-weave motif and is pierced by three Essex crystals, each depicting a lap dog, perhaps a Pekingese. The dogs are well carved and colored, with tiny blue bows under their chins. The crystals never had a mother-of-pearl backing like those produced in England and France...

This stunning bracelet is composed of an applied cast floral layer on a plain, hinged bangle bracelet, with a secure tongue-and-groove clasp and security chain. The tongue bears French import marks that guarantee a silver content of at least .800, and probably dates anywhere from the 1930s to the 1950s. The bangle measures about ½ inch wide with an internal circumference of just under 7 inches. Gross weight: 28.4 grams

Great modernist designed mixed metals ring in silver and brass, possibly by ANTONIO PINEDA. It is signed "TONO 925" and is in excellent condition. An astoundingly tasteful Amethyst Old Mexico City Folk Bracelet. The bracelet is 7.5 inches long, with a 38 gram weight.

Twin fish necklace in amethyst and brass signed MAYA MEXICO after a design first introduced by Hubert Harmon (c.1940-50). This necklace will comfortably fit up to a 15 inch neck. A vintage modernist sterling silver heavy brooch consisting of three intertwined circles by noted Mid Century jeweler, Bill Tendler. Measures 2 1/8" across. Marked TENDLER Sterling. Has a rollover clasp that holds securely. Nice contrast of dark and light and thick and thin sterling. Well crafted, quality piece.

These rocking horse earrings have to be Los Castillo's most endearing design and it is also rare. The weight is 14 grams of repousse. I took a side shot so you could see the depth and dimension these beauties have. They are 1in. tall and 1 1/8th of an inch wide. A fantastic set for a collectors jewel box.

A Mexican sterling silver and amethyst cabochons bracelet circa 1930s 1940 This 7-3/8" length and 5/8" wide bracelet is a classic Mexico design, and the gem stones are genuine. This bracelet is stamped STERLING 925 TAXCO with a 3 eagle mark. It weighs 18.2 grams, it has a box clasp, and it is in excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs, but there is a tiny triangle shape gap on one amethyst. It doesn't appear to be a chip from damage...

A pair of sterling silver screw back earrings in a mid century modernist design. We have seen only one other pair in almost the exact design signed Ed Wiener. Constructed of a layer of oxidized sterling with a contrasting polished curved sterling wire overlay.

The earrings measure 1 1/4" high and 7/8" across and hold securely. They are marked with Sterling, hand wrought and a partial W in a triangle. The screw part is marked Sterling.

Minor surface scratches. They have a warm patin...
