A Mid Century Modernist pair of screw back earrings in two layers of sterling silver by Peggy Miller, an American studio jeweler who worked in Baltimore in the 1950's -60's. These earrings measure 3/4" across one end and 5/8"across on the other end. Measure 7/8" high. Screw backs hold securely. Signed Peggy Miller Sterling on the back of each earring. Nice contrast between the darkened background and the top layer of sterling. Great mid century design.

Composed of a diamond-shaped sterling silver pendant suspended from a chain of curled and flattened sterling wire and amethyst glass beads. The pendant is constructed of separate triangular pieces attached to a central frame of curled wires. The back of the pendant is marked sterling. The entire necklace measures 13 ½ inches long (chain is doubled); the pendant alone measures 4 inches long by 2 1/8 inches wide.

This studio piece features two engraved and oxidated textured designs on the main cuff, with an applied arching, overlapping band. Its distinctive, oblong shape is surprisingly comfortable and conforming to the shape of the wrist. It appears to have been hardly worn, and is nicely crafted. An exceptional gilt filigree scarab bracelet marked on the box clasp LORAN SIM. The company was in production during the 50's-60's in Providence, RI. A classic looking bracelet, composed of a thick cuban link chain with a clasp formed as a belt with a buckle. A nice revival piece imitating the late Victorian Scottish agate pins. The agates are securely set in etched sterling silver. The top features a pierced setting mounted with a glass half-bead in the same dark honey color of the original Scottish cairngorms. The pin has a rollover clasp that probably replaced the original C-clasp. The pin stem appears to be original. The pin is unmarked, but tests as sterling silver. Interesting sterling ring from Finland with a lovely rutilated quartz cabochon stone. The table measures over 1" long, and the stone stands 4/8" tall. The ring has the crown symbol, is marked "925, Made in Finland," and has an abstract hallmark which I do not recognize, along with the mark "U7" which means it was made between 1954 - 1977. size 6.5. This lovely pin is composed of lacy, intricate sterling filigree work surrounding an oval-shaped piece of carnelian. One delicate filigree band is gilded and the other is highly oxidized for contrast. There is a gilded rollover clasp of good quality, probably added later to replace a C-clasp but contemporary to the period of 1950s-1960s. The stone shows no wear or scratching. The back exhibits the words “Italy” and “sterling.” The pin measures 1 ¾ inches long by 1 ½ inches wide.

Mounted with an oval banded carnelian cabochon, the pin is marked 800 to indicate silver content. It could be European, but has Asian elements to it as well. The rollover clasp is an older style but very secure, with a sturdy pin stem. The design features applied wirework and beading, and rough, scalloped edges trimmed in twisted wire. There are two larger silver half-beads, one at each side; one exhibits a small dent, as shown in Photo 5. The pin measures 1 5/8 inches across.

Unusual wide linked vintage bracelet, each link containing a primitively sculpted little crawling human form. The figures are all different. The links are edged with "blobbed" silver lines and the flat surfaces have been oxidized. Unmarked. Tests as sterling. It has a wearable length of 8 inches. Here is a sterling silver pin formed as stylized flowers and stems, set with teardrop-shaped pieces of obsidian. The partial marks are from a silversmith unidentified but known for the initials AE inside a heart-shaped M.
