Circa mid-century, this amethyst koi fish pin is an iconic design from Margot de Taxco. It's a tour-de-force, superbly detailed and collector quality. This fine pin, with its deep, dark yellow, palmate leaves is by Norwegian silversmith Bernard Meldah. It is sterling vermeil with basse-taille enamel and measures 1 3/4” x 1 3/4”. It has a C-catch and is marked “925 S STERLING” “MB” (superimposed, Meldah’s maker’s mark) and “MADE IN NORWAY.” This piece is in excellent condition.

Fabulous vintage necklace with thirteen glowing "dragon's breath" glass cabochons simulating fire opals, in baroque, deeply worked settings. Marked STERLING, TAXCO, EMMA, and numbered 279. This is the mark of Emma Melendez of Taxco, active 1953-1971. Slide clasp. 16 inches wearable length and 7/8 inch wide. Excellent condition. Photos enlarged to show detail. These handsome cuff links are so very sleek while they keep it simple: a welcome characteristic of Pearson’s work. The heavy, solid, sterling silver is another Pearson signature. They measure 1” x 3/4” (x 1/8” at their widest). They are both signed “STERLING PEARSON” and are in excellent condition.

This sterling vermeil and enamel necklace has a lovely design. Each convex, navette-shaped link is a very pretty, pearly white, basse-taille enamel. The necklace measures 16 1/4” long (x 1/2”), with a T-bar clasp. The T-bar is marked “STERLING DENMARK” and “VB” (for Volmar Bahner). This piece is in excellent condition.

Hallmarks date this Valentin Vidaurreta book-piece 1948-1955. Vidaurreta designed jewelry for himself, William Spratling, Fred Davis, and Hector Aguilar. As well he was a painter and illustrator. Vintage 1950's sterling silver & onyx necklace designed & signed by Taxco, Mexico modernist Antonio Pineda. Interior wearable length is 16 inches. Both stones & silver are in beautiful condition. Clasp is tight & secure. Fully hallmarked on reverse. Truly a museum quality wearable work of art, this design was included in the recent museum exhibit SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA and is pictured on p. 133 in the book of the same name by Gobi Stromberg.

Circa 1948-1955, Hector Aguilar's Armadillo necklace is a work of art. It's a spectacular showpiece, with eleven overlapping discs which graduate in size and hang from a black velvet ribbon. This is an exceptionally rare piece produced by Antonio Pineda, with his early "Silver by Tono" hallmark which dates 1948-1953. The design speaks to the influence of Valentin Viadurreta, for whom Antonio Pineda apprenticed in Mexico City.

This ring is the match to the pair of Patania cuffs listed. The same gorgeous design and execution, it is a size 5 and weighs 20 grams. The face of the ring is 1 1/4" long and 1" wide.
