There are some pieces of jewelry that simply defy any effort to photograph them. And this stunning Taxco modernist sterling silver and blue spinel hinged bangle is one of them - a really tough one at that too! An Art Nouveau sterling fronted sash brooch. This 3 x 2" brooch dates to around 1900. This pin is stamped STERLING TOP, it has the original c-clasp, and it weighs 14.1 grams. It is in excellent condition with no major dents, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs other than two shallow bends visible on the back. All items are thoroughly and conservatively graded and all condition issues are noted; all items are vintage or antique and may have slight signs of gentle use...

A lightly hammered sterling silver brooch with a central agate by Tone Vigeland, who worked with the Norway Plus Design Studio. The central stone has gold speckles which catch the light. Heavy thick sterling.

Measures 1 3/4" across and 2" high. Marked with the ND for Norway Designs, and conjoined TV for Tone Vigeland. Also has the Plus sign, Sterling and Norway.

Has an earlier style rollover safety clasp that holds securely. Nice weight and quality...

A very nice Art Deco scarab bracelet set in silver. Three glass scarabs alternate with pierced silver sunbursts set with marcasites. The sparkle of the marcasites is a nice foil for the heaviness of the scarabs. Scarab jewelry became popular after the discovery of King Tut’s tomb in the 1920s. The back is marked “Sterling”.

Less-is-more is definitely the way Carmen Beckmann chose to go with this vintage Mexican sterling silver and amethyst ring. Set in a disk adorned with overlay and oxidation, it brings to mind a perfectly round stone as it touches the water causing it to ripple. Easy to wear whatever the occasion and a beautiful example of Mexican modernist jewelry. Currently a sz 6 US (easily resizable by your jeweler) the ring has a face that is 7/8” in diameter and it weighs 8.3 grams...

Vintage, stylish, organic shaped sterling clip earrings with oxidized areas by Arizona Modernist H. Fred Skaggs. Measuring 1 1/2" by 1 1/4", they weigh 11 grams total and are in fine original condition. Signed as shown. Interesting and unusual.

This lovely American sterling silver and enamel cross exhibits an elaborately scrolled edge and vibrant green enamel. The cross and chain date from at least c. 1915 but could be older. The chain is original and made of flattened, rectangular links; there is no clasp. It tests definitively for silver. The enamel decoration on the cross is intact, and bears the usual minor flaws of handwork...

Charming, dimensional, and original design pin with applied silver man/scissors/flora, and applied brass and copper, and set in textured copper. This handsome cross pin (that also has a bail to double as a pendant) is by circa 1970. It has a geometric design of copper and onyx inlaid with sterling silver and turquoise. It has 3 layers: the top is the copper, that is skillfully cut for the inlay; the next layer is the onyx and the bottom is sterling...

This wonderful, sterling silver charm displays George Washington and troops crossing the Delaware River on that cold winter evening, December 25, 1776. The back is marked WASHINGTON'S CROSSING DEC. 25, 1776. It also has a maker's mark of "H" inside a bell, for Heritage (part of the Heritage Collection) and is marked STERLING. This charm has good heft and is in excellent condition...

Great architecturally designed silver and amethyst handmade pin by Kasityo, Finland, 1965. There are 2 different silver finishes - flat and grainy - that work together well. The piece is signed "KASITYO JOSE (CROWN IN HEART)FINLAND 813H(silver content) M7(1965) ANCHOR symbol made in Lahti(city) and is in excellent condition. The handmade lock is decorative and lovely. A rare hand wrought modernist link bracelet and matching earrings in Sterling Silver by the well respected jewelry teacher and author, Philip Morton. He is the author of the book "Contemporary Jewelry" where he demonstrates jewelry making techniques and highlights talented and noteworthy artisans. This brooch or pin is in the shape of a bow, made from blue and turquoise plique a jour (translucent) enamel with twisted wire work running through it.
