A contemporary of Matilde Poulat's, maestro M. Velazquez also worked in Mexico City and created jewelry primarily in the repousse style associated with the capital and Matl, its most famous practitioner. Velazquez was a true master of his art - his jewelry is bold and his repoussage confident, sculptural and nicely finished. The inspiration for the fish brooch at hand was obviously an ancient Maya or Aztec glyph or carving...

Bold high-set modernist crystal ring by Swedish designer Gison Liedholm. The setting makes quite a statement, soaring a full 3/4" above the band. Made in the middle of the 20th Century. The stone appears to be a rock crystal. Size 6. Excellent vintage condition. Marked "Handmade, Sterling, Gison Liedholm."

Spratling often used an arrow or an arrowhead in his designs. Here he pairs 925 sterling silver with matte onyx in each arrowhead link for an eye-catching combination. The necklace measures 17" long and 9/16" wide. The earrings are 1" high and inlaid with chrysocolla on the front panels. Together the necklace and earrings weigh a comfortable 57 grams. Both are in beautiful condition with minor age wear to the stones. The back of the necklace is also inlaid with matte onyx...

A heavy silver cuff by Otto Bade marked ORB Sterling. The ends show some wear with spotting. Sold as is.

A vintage sterling silver necklace and matching screw back earrings in the style of Kalo. Necklace measures 16" long and closes with a secure hook. Earrings measure 5/8" across and are marked sterling. Screw backs hold securely. Very detailed work. Lovely example in an arts and crafts classic design.

This elegant necklace by Los Castillo features thick links in the shape of Leaves done in heavy sterling silver repousse. Very well made with links connected by a pin rivet to give the piece movement. Measures 15" long, 3/4" wide and is nice and heavy at 98.4 grams. Hallmarked Los Castillo Taxco, Sterling Made in Mexico, 329 and the eagle 15. It has a secure box clasp and is in good condition with a lovely patina. One of the nicest (and heaviest) examples of this design we've seen.

Bearing the signature of Pedro Castillo this bracelet is, for me, a fusion of classic Taxco "arhaeological" as well as modernist elements. The overlay is immaculately crafted - one would never expect less from a Castillo - and the design lends itself to several readings...

A modernist brooch by noted mid century silversmith, Frances Holmes Boothby.

This swirled brooch measures 1 1/2" tall and 1 7/8" across. Has a partial fhb mark on the back. Also marked Sterling.

Has a safety rollover clasp that holds securely. Nice condition, just a few minor scratches.

A Scottish sterling silver Celtic penannular cloak pin fully hallmarked for Glasgow 1960. This 1-1/2" pin has a 1-15/16" moving spike for fastening a cloak, and it has the maker`s mark for Robert Allison with a 1960 year stamp. It weighs 13.6 grams, and it is in excellent condition with no monograms, dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs...

Geometric, dimensional and unusual signed period art deco sterling, onyx, and marcasites pin, Germany, c.1920. The wonderful design measures 1 5/8" long by 7/8" wide. Pin has original locking device that can hold a chain so can be worn as a necklace also. Pin is signed "STERLING GERMANY EHA". Excellent condition and all marcasites present. This pretty navette-shaped pin is from the Arts & Crafts era. It measures 2-1/8 x 7/16”. It has a leaf and berry motif, centered by a deep purple amethyst. (Amethysts are thought to bring calmness and clarity to the mind.) It is marked STERLING, and the pin-stem assembly is original. The silver has a nice patina. In excellent condition, and circa 1900. Spratling described this stunning design as "a wide Aztec bracelet with framed buttons" according to Goddard's spratlingsilver.com. It was one of Spratling's most popular designs in the 1930's - 1940's and still is today. Weighing 185 grams, the bracelet measures 2" high at the front with 1 1/8" opening at the back. The interior measures 2 1/2" across the inside. The bracelet is in beautiful condition with an aged patina. The design is also referred to as River of Life bracelet.

Stunning pair of heavy silver bangles inlaid with raw polished Baltic amber, total 184 grams of silver. These have spring loaded hinges so they do not require a clasp. Inner diameters are 18cm. These crafted in a Tibetan design made by Nepalese silversmiths for a more sophisticated market than tourist kitsch. Would sell individually at $400ea.
