This is a very rare bracelet from Los Castillo, executed in 980 silver. One of their earliest pieces before they added design numbers with their hallmark. At the center is a huge gorgeous amethyst cabochon, bezel set and surrounded by tiny beading. A distinctive, eclectic design of various size rings and impressed floral elements, probably ca. 1920. The chain tests strongly as sterling silver and is highly patinated, resembling gunmetal. I acquired this pair of Miguel Melendez’s hinged bangles as a set some time ago and after long deliberations, I decided that they should continue in life as such. Miguel is one of Taxco’s modernists yet he honed his skills at Spratling’s Las Delicias and working for Margot de Taxco for many years. This specific design is a favorite of mine’s by him - it brings to mind rock formations and I love the interplay of negative and positive space...

A delightfully feisty-looking cat is featured in the French Art Nouveau brooch. We’re particularly fond of his enormously long whiskers that stretch the full width of the pin. The pin is stamped with French silver marks and with an illegible maker’s mark.

NOTE: The pin could be worn as a pendant with the addition of a bail to the back.

These gorgeous earrings each display two oval amethyst flower cabs, stemming out of leaves. They measure 1 1/2" long x 7/8" from leaf to leaf. The back of one is marked MEXICO STERLING. They are in excellent condition.

An unusual hand wrought brooch in the shape of a surrealist eye in thick hammered sterling silver with a brown gemstone bead for the iris. Has 2 layers of sterling, one more hammered then the other for an interesting contrast. The dangling brown bead moves and reflects on the sterling background.

A heavy, organic design distinguishes this handmade Mexican ring from its contemporaries. The stone is set within a vine-like mount, and is highly polished, fiery, showing very little wear. Hand wrought in thick silver & weighing 95 grams this cuff was designed by Spratling in the 1940's. The bracelet stands 1 1/2" high and will comfortably fit up to a 6 3/4" wrist. Modernist streamlined design.

Very rare Hector Aguilar bracelet that measures 1.25 in. tall and 7 in. long. The pyramids have a measurement of 10 mm. in height giving the bracelet great dimension. 87 grams is the weight and the patina is natural and gorgeous. The condition is without repairs and damage. It seriously appears to have hardly been worn. I do not like to use the word rare as all of these treasure made by the top tier Maestros are rare but this one deserves that title. An excellent example and collector quality.

Sterling modernist star earrings by the famous NYC silversmith, Ed Wiener, c.1952. These hand made asymmetrical stars with recessed oxydized silver solid centers and shiny silver forming the raised outline of the stars are expansive and exciting. They measure 1 3/8" at the widest and are in excellent condition. The screwback was put over the mark, so you see "ED ST". This was a frequent occurrence and the complete mark is under the soldered screwback. Wonderful modernism by a famous maker.....$...

This sturdy cuff bracelet features a ribbed design that runs horizontally along the entire piece. It has kept its shape and has a soft, warm patina from age. A few very minor scratches, hardly noticeable without magnification. The inside is marked sterling; there is no maker’s mark. While it has a Mexican feel, it is probably American-made. The cuff has a graduated width, measuring 1 3/8 inches at its widest area; the inside circumference measures 6 5/6 inches. Weight: 38.9 grams

This bracelet is truly beautiful. The central stone is bezel-set with a diameter of 1". The bracelet has a great mod look and good heft, as well. It would likely fit on a smaller wrist. It is in excellent condition.
