A modernist pendant by the noted NYC jeweler, Paul Lobel. This pendant is made of twisted sterling silver wire ending with a exaggerated prong set clear orb. The orb can spin around in the 'cage'. Signed on the back, LOBEL, Sterling. Has a wonderfully darkened patina. There is a small scratch on the ring that attaches to the bale.

The pendant measures 2" at the widest and 3 1/4" high including the bale.

Original Lobel chain measures 17" and has a hook closure that holds securely...

A pair of elegant sterling silver and diamond earrings with the woven design is pave set with 104 diamonds. The pave center is encircled by a vermeil (gold on silver) frame. The 16 millimeter square earrings have posts and omega backs for a safe closure. The approximate total weight of all diamonds is 0.52 Ct.

Los Castillo is known for their superb silver repousse work and this stunning bracelet is an outstanding example of that skill. Two large vary ornate fish sitting on two blue Art Glass cabochons curve around the wrist ending with silver shells at the clasp in the back. This unusual pin features an applied abstract motif of molten silver mounted on a rosewood panel. The wood has a backing of silver and a secure rollover clasp. It has a handsome design and is expertly constructed. It is unmarked, but all the silver has been tested, and is most likely sterling. The back bears a secure rollover clasp.

Circa 1930's, this Fred Davis pin is very striking, with a design which I've not seen previously. The craftsmanship is superb with exquisite repoussé silver work. Measures 2 11/16" tall, 2" wide. Weight is 25.3 grams. Signed and hallmarked with a conjoined FD Made in Mexico Silver. In excellent vintage condition. Pin closes with a simple early spiral C clasp, and is very secure.

Each of these five late 19th-century heart charms is decorated with embossed scrolls; included is also an engraved faux lock of the same period. The hearts are identical, with one showing minor impacts; the lock looks to be hardly worn. All have their bails intact and are marked sterling on the back. Each heart measures 1/2 inch wide by 3/4 inch long, including the bail; the locket measures just under ½ inch wide by 5/8 inch long. Weight: 4.8 grams total

A vintage pair of kinetic figural screw back earrings by Ex-pat Ken Beldin in copper, silver and patinated brass. Measure 2 3/4" long and 1 1/4" at the widest. Ken Beldin etched on the back of the brass part, hard to read. Screw backs hold securely. Fine example of his work.

An Arts and Crafts sterling silver and pink enamel Paye & Baker straight brooch or collar pin from 1910. This Edwardian period fine quality 2" long brooch is 1/2" wide, it has a superb pink enamel dome as the center of a flower with leaves and foliage of silver and it has a c-clasp. It is stamped STERLING with the Paye & Baker Mfg. Co. mark (Attleboro, Massachusetts from 1904-1935) and it weighs 3.0 grams...

A beautiful tufa cast ring with mosaic inlay of various stones including turquoise and coral by Harold Lovato of Santo Domingo Pueblo. This ring is a size 6 3/4 and measures 1 1/8" long and 7/8" wide. Weighing 11 grams, it is in fine original condition and signed as shown. Active from the 70's until his death in 1997, Harold Lovato designs are always unique and interesting.

This lovely, sterling silver, Mexican, well-crafted bracelet displays a very colorful, large, faux fire opal on each ornate link. It is 6 3/4" long. Each link measures approximately 1 1/8" x 1". It is sterling silver and marked on the clasp: STERLING MEXICO 925, and, in a circle on the back of one of the links: TAXCO HECHO EN MEXICO with the "spread eagle" assay mark in the middle. Each link is slightly convex, adorned with a vivid, faux opal cabochon. It is in excellent condition.

This colorful bracelet is made of various Scottish chalcedonies set in sterling silver bezel mountings, for a total of seven panels. Each panel features four raised pieces of bloodstone set in individual mounts; the centers are set with a pointed and faceted piece of chalcedony in shades of red, white, brown, and blue-gray. These interesting turquoise and sterling silver earrings were made in Mexico. The clover shape looks like three hearts with a stem, with the turquoise inlay separated by the sterling silver. The back of one of the screwbacks is marked HECHO EN MEXICO 925 (of which only HECHO EN M and 9 are legible). They also have the maker's initials: a curved BEH, of which the H is not fully stamped. These earrings measure 1" x 3/4". The patina is great as are the turquoise colors.

Doris Silver was a shop in Taxco during the Spratling era. She offered her space to craftsmen to produce quality and stunning jewels. This necklace is very heavy repousse with a wearable 17in. long with it's widest point being 7/8th in. The patina is naturally dark and thick. The design is floral with twisting and turning vines. Hidden within is a drop of 2.5in. across and 2 in. tall. I have never seen another like this one. No damage, just LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE!

Very early 980 silver FISH clip by William Spratling, Mexico, c.1931. It is signed "WS TAXCO 980" and measures 1 3/4" square and is worn vertically with the fish head facing downwards. This Fred Davis ring was produced in the 1930's to early 1940's. It features a large hand-cut and polished amethyst cabochon, and is a generous size 7. The face of the ring is 13/16", with a depth of 3/8". The stone itself is gorgeous, with natural inclusions and quartz marbling. Weight is 9.8grams. Signed and hallmarked with the conjoined FD and Made in Mexico Silver. In excellent vintage condition.

This silver pin is unmarked but exhibits sophisticated metalwork. It is composed of a single piece of silver that has been hand-formed and folded to portray a tail and stylized fins or, possibly stripes or seaweed. There is some oxidation on the surface of the body, under the fins, most likely from heating the silver to make it more pliable. A chrysoprase cabochon in a bezel mount represents the eye. This is a gorgeous necklace with highly polished onyx stones and a modernist design making this a standout piece. Being offered is a rare and fine circa 1965 sterling silver necklace by Sigfrido ‘SIGI’ Pineda of Taxco, Mexico. Handcrafted silver necklace in a modern biomorphic design; necklace features a tongue & box closure to attach both pieces. Sigi, cousin of Los Castillo founder, Antonio Castillo, spent years working with Los Castillo, Salvador Teran, Felipe Martinez, and Margot de Taxco before opening his own shop in 1952. Pendant composed of the inside of a conch shell that is mounted in wound sterling silver wire. The chain of twisted sterling silver bands is stamped 925 and has a secure pressure hook clasp. Each connecting ring is soldered closed. Clasped, the necklace measures 17 inches long, including the pendant.

"Mask" jewelry is not a rarity in the world of vintage Mexican silver yet the portrayals are almost always of ancient, Mesoamerican faces. And even though I am a very big fan of them as long as both the carving and the setting is interesting, I am thrilled to be presenting here a big brooch by A. Tobias housing the portrait of a more "contemporary" man.
