Composed of two rectangular layers of sterling silver, top one curved and with a cutout comma-shaped design exposing a highly oxidized interior. The ring is marked sterling and has Joseph Skinger’s script signature mark. Skinger was a Vermont studio metalsmith who was most productive during the 1950s and 1960s; he died in 1967. I am told by Carol Skinger, Joe's daughter, that the design is known as 'Mountain Shadow' and was produced as choker necklaces, bracelets and pins...

A modernist sterling silver hand wrought cuff bracelet signed 'AR' in a design reminiscent of the work of Arthur King. Has polished 'globs' of silver along the edges and surrounding the multiple cut outs. The polished sterling contrasts with the oxidized darker areas for an interesting effect.

Measures about 6 1/2" around with an opening of 1". Fits me comfortably and I have an average wrist. It is pretty stiff and doesn't have much give.

Over the years of my career as a vintage Mexican jewelry dealer I have come to love and appreciate the "mask" pieces created by the Los Ballesteros workshop. I have to admit that this was not a "love-at-first-sight" affair. On the contrary, it took me some time to realize that prolific though they might have been, especially in the post-1980 years which witnessed a drop in creativity as well, the specific workshop excelled in the production of superb jewelry centered by carved stone effigies...

This wonderful brooch / pin and pendant is measures 1 3/8" x 1 3/8" x 1 3/8. It has an inner triangle displaying fine, filigree wirework with turquoise stones and has 8 hammered dangling drops. The back is marked ISRAEL STERLING 925. It is beautiful and in excellent condition.

The best sterling cherub sterling pin by Fishel Nessler Co., 184 Fifth Ave, New York, c.1886. Dimensional, very decorative with fine detail showing outstretched cherub on shell with floral design. This charming sterling fish pin is by the celebrated David Andersen of Norway. It measures 2" (5cm) from top to bottom. On the underside is D-A, Norway, Sterling 925S. Excellent condition.

Period art nouveau dimensional sterling clip showing the beautiful profile of a woman's head with flowing hair and flowers. Small, it measures 3/4"long by 1/2"wide. The front of the clip with the art nouveau design and the clip mechanism itself are in excellent condition but there is a a few scratches on the back on the word "STERLING"(see photo). True to the philosophy of the Arts and Crafts movement which valued artistry and craftsmanship at the expense of ostentatious materials this early 20th c. ring is wrought in silver and centered by a glorious Peking glass cabochon. The ring’s bezel is supported by laurel leaves, their layering given depth by oxidation while the white swirls in the green cab bestow it the dynamism of turbulent water.
