A black and white photograph of San Patricio Church, in Hondo, Lincoln County (southeastern) New Mexico, signed in pencil on the wide mat by photographer K Cole-Hight and dated 1983, and titled at lower left "San Patricio Church". The work measures 6 3/4" by 7 3/4" and 16" by 20" as framed. Condition is excellent. I have been unable to locate information on the photographer.

Japanese limited-edition copperplate etching titled "Big Tree No. 2" by Tanaka Ryohei (1933-2019). Pencil-signed, dated '83, and numbered 33/130 in the lower margin. Paper size 13 1/4" x 12” (image: 9 x 8 1/4"). Never framed. Very good overall condition. There are a few pinhead sized light brown spots in the margin.

This is a landscape work by highly regarded American artist THOMAS WILLOUGHBY NASON (1889-1971). The print is signed in pencil at lower right and dated there 1937, when the artist was 48 years old, at mid-career. Nason was a Boston-born artist who by the late 1920's had taught himself the fine art of creating prints in the wood engraving process. This is a fine print on a puckery, soft, Japan-like very delicate paper, the image featuring an obviously Orientalist figure and a greyhound-like dog. The print is after the original 1865 painting by the artist, that painting having been offered at Sotheby's auction in 2009. JEAN LEON GEROME (1824-1904) was a major French academic painter and sculptor and educator of legions of artists in the 19th century in France. Today his historical subject and Orientalist works sell into the millions ...

Etching on paper, 8" by 7 3/4" inside the mat (16 1/4" by 13 1/2" as framed), the subject an antiques shop in an urban setting, pencil signed at lower right by the well listed and accomplished American artist EARL HORTER (1881-1940). I believe the title of this might well be "Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe"...

Late in life, circa 1999, Japanese master print maker, Haku Maki, did this shikishiban print. It is called Z1-12 (WAZA); 7.25'' x 8.25''; Shikishiban is a nearly square format. Shikishiban are often mounted on a thick, light cardboard. Japanese people like to give them as presents. The print is in the US and will be shipped from there.
