Oval portrait miniature of a young woman; watercolor, signed indistinctly. She is wearing a lace and floral trimmed bonnet, braids coiled over her ears, pearls and a ruched off the shoulder rose dress, all typical of the 1840’s.

A fine cold-painted Vienna bronze eagle of the highest quality and unusually large size. The painted decoration is wonderfully complex and detailed. The bronze is marked "Austria" under the tail feathers. We have seen this exact bronze with Franz Xavier Bergmann marks.

Origin: Austria, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, only the faintest paint nicks are the tips of a few features and beak. Dimensions: 9-1/4" x 6-1/2" x 5-1/4" high.

A fine mid 19th century watercolor on organic wafer of a good looking young man. The sitter, with blue eyes and brown hair, is wearing a black coat and tie with a white shirt.

This painting is in its original A.P. Critchlow thermoplastic velvet lined case, an item which, in and of itself, is often sought after by collectors. Note that this case was produced even before a patent was granted.

Condition of the painting is excellent, with no issues whatsoever...

A portrait miniature of a good looking young gentleman, well painted in watercolors on organic wafer. This fine piece is enclosed in a bronze surround.

The sight size is 2 3/4" by 2 1/2", and the overall size is 3 1/4" by 2 3/4". The condition of the miniature and the surround is excellent, with no problems or restoration at all.

LEVI WELLS PRENTICE 1851-1935; AMERICAN River Bend; Oil on Canvas Original Frame LWP is from the Adirondacks area in NY. He is known for his landscape and still like paintings of this area. He has a distinctive realistic style. His art is in many collections including the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. This painting was once owned and sold by VOSE Galleries in Boston. This, like many of his research notes, was an addendum to his book, The Life and Works of Haku Maki, which he published in 2007. He wrote an Appendix to the book called Chasing Maki.
