A wild crayon and pencil on paper drawing of bizarre abstracted forms that might be described as "organic", the drawing tacked at four corners to a larger board that is itself painted decoratively. The work, 22" by 18" framed, is signed with initials at lower right that could be "BK" and the date is "02". This was found in Southern California. The artist worked a lot of hours to produce this. Both drawing and gold frame are in very good condition.

The matching set of prints, each numbered in Roman numerals V/XX (5 of edition of only 20), measure 12 1/4" by 9 1/4" inside the mat openings, and THREE are framed, one unframed (the framed ones including the frame measuring 18" by 14"). The prints likely date to the 1960's or 1970's. Hambourg was born in Paris...

An unusual playful piece depicting an owl by one of the most important sōsaku-hang printmakers in the 20th century, Akiyama Iwao 秋山巌 (1921-2014). Best known for his prints, Akiyama Iwao produced paintings even later in his career, as well as occasionally painted on ceramics. Sake cup is sealed by the potter, but seal is obscured by glaze, and Akiyama’s signature and remains unread...

This appears to be an original painting on silk, circa 1960's or 1970's, 15" by 17 1/4" framed, Chinese calligraphy and red seal at left. I say "appears" because there is a Windsor Art Products label on the reverse, suggesting this would be a print or multiple of some type. Having examined it very closely, however, it does still look to me like original work, and not a silkscreen...
