At one time I thought there was some possibility that this was a work by Finnish artist Gosta Diehl. The daughter of that artist, Franciska Sundholm, wrote me to say that this is definitely not a work by her father. So this is offered as simply a competently executed modernistic still life painting...

A modernist line drawing of a man in thin marker or ink, unsigned, the artist unknown, detail of the face especially indicative of the skill of the artist. The work probably dates to about 1970. Size 7 1/2" by 4" inside the mat, and 10 1/4" by 6 3/4" in silvery wood frame. Condition is excellent. Word "Al" written in pencil on reverse side. There are reflections in the images.
