The work features an older man wearing gold-rimmed spectacles, his white moustache and beard adding considerable character to this individual, who looks like a professor or other man of wisdom, accomplishment, and achievement. To date, an effort to tie the work to a listed artist has been unsuccessful...

There does not appear to be a listing for this particular artist but the name is Belgian in origin. The work, 12" by 16 1/2" (19" by 24" in frame) could use a light cleaning, as there is surface dirt throughout, and there are some surface abrasions that show as white areas in the photos...

The drawing (15 1/2" by 12") is on grayish heavy paper (the true color is indicated by the first two images---the subsequent ones were taken in different light, suggesting a more tan color). The age of the drawing itself is especially difficult to determine in this instance. I would guess that it could be anywhere from 1960...
