It was purchased near Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the reverse framing paper shows what appears to be a Houston, Texas address. Condition is excellent with no stains or foxing.

Bickerstaff is a familiar name in California plein air art. He was a prolific artist, creating both landscapes of desert and eucalyptus and lupine, as well as seascape.
