This is a pleasant unsigned oil on canvasboard landscape, 16" by 20" (20" by 24" simply framed), the subject a lake surrounded by low hills, a church at right and a few strolling figures at left. The work might be by an amateur or a listed artist but due to the lack of a signature the truth will never be known. There is a little even soiling consistent with an age of at least 40 years, and a small hairline abrasion at center which is not obtrusive...

A circa 1960's to early 1970's oil on board painting in earth tones of dark brown, tan and cream, unsigned, 9" by 22" as framed in black with gold and an orange velvet liner (pure 60's!). The imagery could be purely abstract though to me, a skyline and reflection of that skyline in water is suggested----such as Manhattan from the New Jersey side of the river. Payne does not seem to have a biography but his paintings of autumn landscapes and coastal dunes, in the Northeast, have appeared at auction. This piece was found in Maine. Most certainly he was very familiar with Impressionist technique...

A poetic landscape with tree and path on the bank of a small lake or large pond, signed at lower right "Zalich" or similar, 9 1/2" by 13" (15 1/2" by 18 3/4" framed), circa 1960. Condition is excellent, frame has a bit of wear consistent with age. The scene is simple but very calming.

This work , an oil on panel was done at the Terresdale Riverfront, as the inscription on the back reads. The artist was from the Philadelphia area. Little else is know at this time

Impressionist painting of harborside buildings, apparently American as original "$70.00" price on reverse appears adjacent to title "Fishing Village" and the 1965 date---although the subject appears more European. Work is on Masonite, and measures 18" by 22" as framed in white and black painted wood. That framing is scuffed and soiled, shows its age. If you are handy and so inclined you could restore it nicely, retaining the original period look, or, re-frame...

Original oil painting on board by Michael Aloysius Sarisky (Ohio, 1906-1974), mid-century, in excellent condition, signed l.r. 31" by 28". Michael Sarisky is known as a WPA mural artist. He exhibited regularly at the Cleveland Museum of Art's May shows and this museum still holds 3 of his works. We currently have two works on paper by this artist also available.
