I do not see a listing for an artist by this name, or Christensen, but clearly he/she was talented. The scene would appear to be western American, though I recently viewed photos of the noted Montmorency Falls in Quebec, Canada, and there is a strong resemblance to this scene...

Oil on canvas painting of a traditional German house or cottage in a forested landscape, 20" by 28" on the stretchers, 23" by 31" as framed, signed at lower right by artist "M. Lichtmann" and dated there 1920. The painting is beautifully executed, though there is very little information on the artist. There is stable craquelure, and a slight drip of foreign matter at center left, though the painting can be placed on the wall as-is.
