Armenian watercolor painting of the famous, sacred snow-covered mountain, Ararat, signed in Armenian at lower right. The work measures 11 1/4" by 16" (14" by 18 3/4" in gold frame). The work likely dates from about 1970 through 1980 or so. It is framed behind non-glare glass, which tends to blur detail. Condition is excellent. The work has been faded by sunlight over the years yet remains interesting. A vintage (mid century) watercolor painting of a very old stone church in Central America or Mexico, signed at lower left "Gil". The work is very nicely painted by an obviously talented watercolorist. Note the tiny figures in the composition, and the bright spots of color contrasting with the creamy stone of this circa sixteenth or seventeenth century church. Most likely this would be in Guatemala or one of the nearby countries, or in southern Mexico...

She a led fascinating and turbulent life eventually settling in Hong Kong in 1948. Her daughter is Anson Chan. The painting is well mounted on a traditional scroll.
