A painter and illustrator, Nichols was a member of quite an artistic family...

Watercolor signed in the lower right corner H.L.B. and pencilled in on the back Harriet L. Barnecott. Nicely framed and matted under glass. The frame measures 11-1/5" x 16"

For your Colorado ski cabin, a contemporary (maybe as early as the 1970's) watercolor and gouache painting, unsigned, featuring objects familiar to anyone who has gone skiing in the mountains: a packet of Kleenex for the runny noses, mittens/gloves, down jacket, lift ticket and ski trail map, tire chains, and rubber clasp to hold the skis together when walking back to the car. The work measures 18" by 14" (24" by 18" in black metal frame)...

This is a nicely executed watercolor featuring a red barn and small house apparently in autumn, signed at lower right and dated there 1973 by contemporary artist JOHN S. McFEDRIES. I do not see a listing for the artist but some other works by him can be viewed on the net (and I have a New Mexico watercolor by him in my shop). The painting measures 16" by 22 1/2" inside the mat and (25" by 31 1/2" framed). The painting is in excellent, fresh condition but there is no glass...

Finely rendered watercolor painting of a scene of North Africa, likely Tunisia, Algeria or Morocco, signed at lower right in red by listed American artist WILFRID "Wally" BERG (1908-2002). A boy in the foreground in local clothing watches over a herd of grazing sheep, as sun-washed old buildings and mosque fill the background. The work measures 17" by 22" (25 1/2" by 29 1/4" framed). Berg was born in Michigan into a large family...

Painting signed Fang Zhaoling , (yes this is an emulation), dimensions are 87cm x95cm , with mounting 215cm/84in and W: 112cm/44in Fang Zhaoling (Chinese: 方召麐, 17 January 1914 – 20 February 2006), also known as Lydia Fong, was a Chinese painter and calligrapher. She a led fascinating and turbulent life eventually settling in Hong Kong in 1948. Her daughter is Anson Chan. The painting is well mounted on a traditional scroll.

**PAIR** of watercolors on paper of African American musicians in the famous New Orleans French Quarter jazz spot known as Preservation Hall. Each painting is on a sheet of heavy watercolor paper measuring 15" by 11" (21 1/2" by 16 1/2" as framed), both signed but I am unable to decipher the signature----looks something like "Tortelli" but that is a wild guess. These are possibly paintings for the tourist trade but there is a monumentality to the work that goes beyond tourist art...

Contemporary watercolor of the famous Pirates Alley in the French Quarter of New Orleans, 10 1/2" by 6 1/2" (18" by 14" in newer framing), signed at lower right. The work is beautifully painted by a talented hand that I cannot identify. Condition is excellent. There is a little bit of loss in the frame at upper left corner and lower center, showing as red areas. Some gold paint would cover these. See many other works of New Orleans in my shop.

An antique floral watercolor painting of a bundle of cut snapdragons, 15 3/4" by 10 1/4" (24" by 18" framed), apparently unsigned and undated, but likely circa 1900. Condition is good, the work is clean.

A miniature or small gouache hillside landscape painting (3" by 4 1/4"), 7 3/4" by 9 3/4" in silvery stand-up frame, signed at lower left "R. Becker". The artist is Russ or Russell Becker, according to a Christmas 1995 hand-written holiday note on the inside of the blue card to which this is affixed. I do not see an obvious artist by this name, but he was clearly talented. The scene appears western, given the reddish rocky outcrop. Condition is excellent.

Dunn, G.P. Ennis, D. Beard, R. Reid and C.G.Chapman. She belonged to numerous organizations including North Shore Artist's Association, The Studio Guild of New York, The Bronx Artist's Guild, Gotham Painters and the Glaucester Society of Artists...

An early (early 20th century) unframed watercolor of the brick buildings of San Francisco's Chinatown, unsigned, 11 1/2" by 7 1/2", from the collection of a longtime San Francisco art dealer. The work includes a number of figures in traditional Chinese clothing, along with the ornamental grillwork of some balconies overlooking the street in these post-Gold Rush buildings. The artist could be any number of listed artists, or perhaps, a talented amateur. There is light foxing in the sky.

A watercolor painting of three sprigs of gladioli in a vase, unfinished, dated at lower right 1931 and signed there by listed London-born artist VIOLET CITRON (1901-1995). Citron's biography is sketchy but she apparently spent much of her life in Israel, passing away there in 1995. Landscapes of Holy Land scenes are known, appearing occasionally at auction, usually in Israel (sometimes signed in Hebrew). This work measures 24" by 18" inside the present mat opening and 32" by 25" framed...

A StylizedGroup of Crane Painting by Priest Joong-Kwang (1935-2002): Korea, this painting mounted with a brocaded cloth and wood framed back. This quite large stylized group of crane painted in ink and red color on paper, and dated 1980s, signed Joong-Kwang in red seal in Korean. It’s in very fine condition, and measures 113.7cm x 39.5cm (44 3/4” x 15 1/2”) painting only.

A Rare and Fine Water Color Painting by Won Suk Yeon: "A young sister caring a baby" Korea, circa 1960s, framed, and painted on paper elaborately, and signed the artist¡¯s round seal in Korean stamped on the lower left.
