The transparent washes and deft handling make for a pleasing and calming image that is a fine alternative to a print. The work is affixed or pressed against the backing by the glass---there is not a proper mount.

I do not believe this to be by any of the noted artists who share that last name of "Gay". Nevertheless it is a nicely drawn work, in excellent condition. Allow for reflections...

A Very Rare/Fine Korean Water Color Painting by Won Suk Yeon(원석연-元錫淵-1922-2003): “A Young dancer playing a Korean Salpuri in white and red dress” Korea, circa 1960s, framed, and painted on paper elaborately, and signed the artist’s round seal “원석연-元錫淵 ” in Korean stamped on the lower left. It's in fine condition, and it measures 29.5cm x 39cm (11 5/8" x 15 1/4").

Each measures 2 1/4" by 3 1/4" (12 1/2" by 9" as framed). There is no information inside on the identity of the talented artist. Silvery frame and hand drawn mat makes for a very elegant little piece.

At first glance appearing to be a print, this is in fact a painstakingly executed watercolor drawing, likely French I am thinking, measuring 16" by 20 1/2" (23 3/4" by 28" framed).
