I don't see a listing for any such name but the artist was talented. I'd guess the age as circa 1920 to 1930's or so, judging from the technique, materials etc...

The reverse inscription says "Merry Christmas 1933/to Lulu (XXX--unreadable)/old friend (XXX---unreadable). This might be a California landscape, but it would be difficult to state that with any certainty...

These appear to be possibly scenes of Mexico or even Spain (the artist studied in Europe) by listed American artist ALBERT LOREY GROLL (1866-1952)...

The painting is very, very dirty and would be a wonderful candidate for a cleaning, which would really transform it...
