Oil on canvas painting of a street scene, presumably in Israel, 16" by 11 1/4" framed, signed at lower left "Moshe M.". This does not appear to be by Moshe Mokady, the best known artist with whom that name corresponds closely. Nevertheless it is a competently handled work in excellent condition.

A contemporary painting of the famed "Winter Palace" of St. Petersburg, Russia, oil on canvas, 9" by 11 1/2" (12" by 14 1/2" in complementary charcoal black framing with gold liner), signed illegibly presumably in Russian at lower right. The green-blue facade is the trademark of one of the world's most famous buildings, which served as the official residence of the Russian Emperors from 1732 to 1917. Per Wikipedia information: as of 2021 the palace and its precincts form the Hermitage Museum...

Watercolor on paper painting 19" by 24" (27" by 34" frame in which found is available at no extra cost), the subject northeastern-style clapboard homes in late autumn season, signed at lower right by artist BEN ROSEN. The painting projects a certain naive charm as a bird's eye view has the viewer contemplating the scene from a unique perspective. There are small edge tears at extreme top that would be entirely hidden by new mat/framing...

Watercolor on paper, 12 1/2" by 18 1/4" inside the present mat, 19 1/2" by 26" as framed, signed "TOWNLEY" at lower right corner and dated there "Oct. 68". I do not see a listing that would match up with this name but the artist was obviously a talented individual. This appears to be a mountain landscape in one of the western states. The trees and the animals are beautifully executed, and there is a superb little ink drawing of a fox near the signature...

Watercolor on paper of a small white painted house in a sparse landscape, the sheet measuring 15" by 22", signed at lower right with "N.W.S." (National Watercolor Society) by the listed California watercolor artist ROBERT UECKER (1929-2005). Uecker was born in Los Angeles and won a five year scholarship to the Chouinard Art Institute, where he was instructed by the likes of Rex Brandt, Ed Reep, and Pruett Carter...

Watercolor painting of a blue-eyed dark haired younger man with long sideburns, seated in a chair, circa 1860's, possibly a bit earlier, apparently unsigned, 9" by 6 1/2" (12 1/4" by 10 1/4" framed). The drawing shows some evidence of 150 years of age, with some light surface scratches in a few spots, a circular discoloration on the paper at left wall, and a little other foxing/discoloration. Found in Florida. I would lean towards the work being of American, rather than English, origin.

This is an artist who is exibited by the U. S. Embassy in Cameroon. A great addition to someone's collection of black artists. This was painted in 1974.

Circa 1960's drip painting on paper, 22 1/2" by 18", unsigned, mounted to a thin board. This is not a Jackson Pollock or Sam Francis, but it is a work of art and it has age. The thin paper is glued down at least at the edges and possibly in the center as well. The paper is browned where it has been under the mat for many years, (about 1 3/4" to about 1/2") and there is puckering where the paper has been glued...

A beautifully painted pair of framed watercolour photo renderings c1880-1900. They consist of a young man and woman in mid-Victorian dress; each image is done on Victorian photographic print paper and they measure 6-3/4" x 4-3/4"...

Esther Anna Hunt (1875-1951) is known today in California art circles as a keen observer of the traditional culture as displayed in San Francisco's Chinatown. Her paintings and plaster bust models of young girls in traditional costume make regular appearances in auctions of California art. This work appears to have been created by one of Hunt's many early 20th century imitators. The watercolor is signed at lower right corner "A. Fowler" and is dated there April 1912...

Watercolor coastal scene with rocks and sea birds, tiny sails on the horizon, signed at lower left by artist Wang Zhi Bin (including artist seal) and dated there 10. 1991. A nicely executed work by an artist about which information seems to be lacking. Measures 16 1/4" by 23 1/4" inside the mat, and 23 1/2" by 30 1/2" in light-colored frame. The work is in excellent condition.

A contemporary American painting of a tabby cat next to a vase with flowers, 13 1/2" by 10 3/4" (16" by 13" in white frame), signed at lower right RS and dated there 2008. The artist was a talented amateur but he/she has created an attractive and coordinated scene in black, white, gray and blue. The frame has some smudges that come off with some rubbing and there are a few corner chips.

A poetic landscape with tree and path on the bank of a small lake or large pond, signed at lower right "Zalich" or similar, 9 1/2" by 13" (15 1/2" by 18 3/4" framed), circa 1960. Condition is excellent, frame has a bit of wear consistent with age. The scene is simple but very calming.

Watercolor on paper, unsigned, 15 1/2" by 11 3/4" and a 1/2" wide narrow modern frame, no glass, probably dating to circa 1950, the subject a fluted column 19th century style American framed mirror with flowers in a vase placed before it. This is a simple composition but the anonymous artist was obviously skilled in the use of watercolor and also had a sense of composition. There is a modernist touch, in the way the flowers are stuffed into the foreshortened space...

Watercolor on paper painting of a windmill, measuring 8 3/4" by 6" (14 1/2" by 11" framed), signed "A. L. Terrell" or similar at lower right, where the artist dated it "07" and added "The Hague". I do not see a listing by this name or similar possibilities, though there was an artist Adriaan Terhell who painted windmills in watercolor...

Old American watercolor painting, early 1900's, featuring a leafless tree in what is apparently late autumn, a flash of color in the middle distance giving an indication that winter has not completely arrived. The work appears unsigned. Measurements are 15 1/4" by 10" and 18 1/4" by 12 1/2" in the old frame, which shows wear. The watercolor itself has survived the decades in good condition.

**One of a number of Venice works in my shop** Watercolor painting of a classic Venetian view including canal gondola and the famous church in the background, 4 1/2" by 7 1/2" (10" by 13 1/4" as framed without glass), signed at lower right corner "G. Romanello". This is a twentieth century work, perhaps from the 1950's, or, possibly, earlier. I do not see a listing for the name...

Oil on canvas painting of pinkish flowers in a clay pot against a blue drape, unsigned, circa 1950's/early 1960's, 20" by 16" (22" by 18" in simple wood frame). The work was found in Virginia. Obviously by a trained artist. Note the shadows cast at left---well handled. Condition is excellent. There is a very small disturbed area on frame at top.
