Original burin engraving and etching by Dolf Rieser (British, born in South Africa, 1898-1983). Pulled by Joseph Hecht in Paris in 1938 as #9 in the "Africa" portfolio on Montval paper, signed and numbered "35" by the artist, in an edition of 100. In excellent condition. Offered framed and with the original portfolio cover with an engraving of African masks on brown wove paper.

Complete portfolio of etchings and drypoints by Sigmund Abeles (USA, born 1934). 1969. This is a collection of works produced mostly in 1966 and issued as a portfolio in an edition of 65 plus 10 artist's proofs in 1969 by Aquarius Press. All 13 works signed by the artist. Abeles is an important 20th and 21st century American artist.

Gerald Leslie Brockhurst 1890-1978 English One of the finest portrait etchings ever created by British artist Gerald Brockhurst. "Henry Rushbury", created and printed in 1930. Rushbury, like Brockhurst studied at the Birmingham School of Art and the two later shared an apartment in London. Rushbury was an accomplished etcher as well... This etching is very richly printed, the subtle tonal range is incredible in person, our scan doesn't .do this image justice...

This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Charles Jacque (1813-1894) This etching of a Shepherd is quite large, rare for this artist. It has an image size of 14 3/4X18 1/4 inches. It is clearly signed in the lower right border. It is printed on a medium weight wove type paper, light even toning. A very rare image by this important Barbizon artist.

Complete 1967 portfolio of 25 soft ground etchings with aquatint by Jack Levine (American, Boston, born 1915). This work is complete--portfolio case plus all original material, including the 25 soft ground etchings individually pencil signed by the artist and numbered 37/100. Published in 1967 by Touchstone Publishers on handmade BFK Rives wove paper. This portfolio was inspired by the "Dreigroschen Oper" film by Pabst, after the play by Bertold Brecht (The Threepenny Opera)...

This print is most striking in it's simplified, dramatic composition. The roofs are pictured from the side against the black sky. Signed in pencil and numbered 60 of 120. Dated 1993.

Original etching on BFK Rives paper, "Issachar", from the Twelve Tribes of Israel series, 1973, signed by the artist SALVADOR DALI (1904-1989) at lower right margin and numbered 21/195 at lower left. The work is generally clean and comes with quality gold leaf framing, but no glass. There is slight oxidation within the mat opening. Print is taped at top edge only. Measurements are 22 1/2" by 15 1/2" inside the mat; sheet measures 25 1/2" by 19 3/4"; and finally, 32" by 25" framed.

A large etching titled, “Veduta della Gran Curia Innocenziana,” (View of the Palazzo di Monetcitorio) part of Giovanni Battista Piranesi’s folio of Views of Rome, first published in 1752. The etchings were often reproduced, but this one has both the correct heavy laid paper with appropriate watermark and the center crease where it was folded into the original folio. It has good margins beyond the plate mark. Sheet size 21 ¼ x 29 ¾ inches (54 x 75.4 cm)...

This is a rather early landscape etching in brown ink, signed at lower right in pencil by the renowned southwestern artist MICHAEL B. COLEMAN (1946-). The work is numbered 20/20 at lower left margin. Judging from the auction record, which shows that oils have exceeded $50,000, the number of etchings by Coleman's hand is apparently rather limited. This one probably dates to early in his career, perhaps the late 1970's or early 1980's. Coleman was born in Utah and still lives there...

An antique original etching of a standing cow in profile, a village seen at left distance, by Dutch Old Master artist MARCUS DE BIE (sometimes DE BYE), with birth death dates of approximately 1639-1688. The print is heavily trimmed, apparently (3 3/4" by 5 1/4", unframed). Extreme left corners are either dog-eared or missing, and there is a light horizontal crease that likely would not be noticeable at normal viewing distance when framed...

Original limited edition hand colored etching titled "Haggling" featuring Korean women in a marketplace by German artist Willy Seiler (born 1903) from his Korean series. Signed in pencil on the lower margin. Reverse with limited Korean edition seal marked Plate #68A/110, stamped in red "original hand colored," and with Seiler's address in Japan (see enlargements).
