On the backing is an old label of Jamin Editions of Van Nuys, California, who may have issued this print. This is an original hand-colored, 19th century lithograph print by the iconic American ornithologist and naturalist artist JOHN J. AUDUBON (1785-1851), from the nineteenth century series in the small octavo size. Inside the present mat, dimensions are 9 1/4" by 6" inside the innermost mat (16 1/2" by 13" as framed). The title is "Cliff Swallow" and this is Plate number 47 in a long series of bird prints in the small octavo size...

Woodblock print "Face" 1978 signed Tomio Kinoshita, printing 1/50, three oval heads over cylindrical necks with faint rounded shoulders, each inscribed with interior lines over a quite orange/gray, exterior surrounded by a dark somber color.
Tomio Kinoshita has a distinct contemporary stye of abstract heads done in line images of angular, square, and oval shapes. He was born 1923in the Mie Prefecture, Japan...

In 1971 Haku Maki produced this large print, Poem 71-25. It was an edition of 100. This new arrival was produced in Tokyo and went ultimately to Florida in the US. It stayed there for a long time. In the course of its life there it was not treated nicely: It was folded in two places. The print had foxing, it had many ailments. Then it finally made it to my restorer. It had challenges there too: some liquid spilled on it, forcing a delay in the restoration process...

A colorized print stamped Karl Bohme Munchen in the lower left corner along with a printers mark. Not examined out of the original frame. The frame measures 14-1/2" x 18"; the print , 9"x12".

Circa 1940's pencil signed lithograph print "The Old Mill--Ruidoso, New Mex." by artist Kathryn S. Morrow. The print is clean and the impression strong. The mat is affixed over the print with tape in places; the sheet measures " by ", and size is " by " inside the mat. The work was framed in 1950 in Abilene, Texas, according to the stamp on the reverse, and in that time the simple wood frame has loosened up and the top bar is missing...
