Haku Maki started making embossed prints circa 1965. These in the main featured embossing that came out from the back to the front. However, I suddenly discovered that a number of prints in the 1976 - 1977 period were done with the embossing going into not out of the front This style or process does not seem to have hurt any aspect of Maki’s work nor benefited it...

Manuel Robbe, French, 1872-1936, "La Parisienne". A beautiful subtly colored etching and aquatint, image size 19 1/4 x 13 5/8 inches, 1907, pencil signed in the lower left corner of the image. One of the leading French artists of the ‘Belle Epoch,’ Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes, becoming a master of the aquatint medium. The image is a traditional temple garden in winter, a light snow covering the lanterns and roof, and apparently wilted flowers killed by the cold unable to lift their heads...
