A rare print by surrealist print maker Ozaku Seishi, professor emeritus from Tama Art University. He is best known for small edition prints, usually up to 30 copies, limitless experimentation with printing techniques and surrealist, often graphic imagery resembling distorted reality ¬neither quite explicit nor quite horror, but rendering a fairly dark version of dreams. This is a pair of engravings from Peterson's Magazine, 1877 and 1882, both nicely hand colored. Size as framed 18" by 20". The prints, titled "Les Modes Parisiennes" are very clean inside the mats. There are vertical central creases as no doubt issued. These would make for a pleasing addition to a bedroom or lady's feminine dressing area. Allow for reflections in some images.

Vintage poster "Presence des Maitres", 1967, published by the Swiss gallery Galerie Beyeler to publicize their exhibition of works by the likes of Chagall, Klee, Giacometti, Cezanne, Monet, Dufy, Rouault, Mondrian, Picasso, Braque and Bonnard. The unframed piece measures 33" by 20" in simple black frame (NO GLASS). The poster shows definite evidence of age, with blotchy old brownish discolorations/staining and some light abrasions at lower right...

Unfortunately, this very old print has been damaged over the years, and it is now severely torn at top. The title portion and "Currier and Ives" are folded under, as are side portions.
