This is a monotype (generally considered an original work, the artist creating the art on a glass or metal surface which is then pressed against paper to create the final image---usually only one impression is made, so while some consider this a print, others might feel it is unique work). Offered together as a matched pair (and see ANOTHER example of this artist's printmaking in my shop), these are etchings on paper, identically framed, each 11" by 8" inside the mat, 20" by 15" framed. Each print is signed at lower right in pencil by well known New Orleans artist EUGENE F. LOVING (1908-1971). Both prints are titled at lower left, one "Pirates Alley/Old New Orleans", the other "Maison Seignouret Court/Old New Orleans; and each bears the artist's notation "Ed/200"...

An enhanced, dramatic color Cibachrome print photograph, hand titled "Cairo Cityscape Egypt 1979", also hand signed in the same silvery ink by the photographer, LYDIA CLARKE HESTON and numbered at lower center mat 10 of 20 examples. HESTON (1923-2018) was for 64 years the wife of the famous American actor, but was an independent woman who carved her own path despite being in the shadow of one of America's most famous faces of the 20th century...

This print Z-446B was one of a small number of creations that he put on hard, gold-edged board. Daniel Tretiak wrote that these prints “were printed first on very thin paper, which was then ‘wrapped’ around heavy shikishi board. They are lithographs not done from wood blocks. Done in 1999, this work measures 7.25in x 8.25in, is in excellent condition, and one of an edition of 77.
