Avati - Mario Avati, printmaker and book illustrator, was born in Monaco on May 27, 1921.

The artist studied at the École des Arts Decoratifs in Nice and the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris.

THREE pencil signed etchings, all of orientalist subject matter including possible temples, mosques and bazaars, all unframed, by the Dutch artist MARIUS BAUER (1867-1932). Bauer was born in The Hague and died in Amsterdam but in his lifetime strayed far from the confines of the Netherlands, visiting the Middle East, India, Russia, North Africa and the Dutch East Indies. “Breaking Cover” by Alkin, Colored Lithograph London 1841, measuring 8x11” ,frame size 17” 20" Henry Thomas Alkin (1785 – 1851) was an English painter and engraver during the 19th century, he was primarily known for his caricature work and illustrations depicting sporting objects and coaching scenes. He was a highly skilled etcher and watercolor painter.

A caricature image of the famous mathematician and physicist Albert Einstein, captured with spare but well-placed lines, by the well-known American Social Realist artist, BEN SHAHN (1898-1969). Harold Kerr Eby Open Harold Kerr Eby configuration options 1889-1946 American This etching with sandpaper ground was created and printed by American artist Harold Kerr Eby. The title: Little Franklin is named for a Ledge located off the coast of Friendship Maine. The image measrues 8 1/2X14 5/8 inches. Printed in an edition of 100 in 1937. Eby left a skim of unwiped ink on the plate to create tone in the water. A fine impression, nicely framed with archival materials.
