This is a set of four fine engravings, circa 1875 or 1880, judging from the fashion depicted. All are hand colored. Size as framed 15 1/2" by 12 3/4" (one without glass, which had shattered). Ivan Le Lorraine Albright 1897-1983 American This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Ivan Albright. The title is: Self Portrait at 55th East Division Street, Chicago. It was created and printed in 1947 in an edition of 250 impressions. The image measures 14 1/8X10 1/8 inches. Ivan Le Lorraine Albright (Chicago 1897-1983) was an American painter and printmaker noted for his meticulously detailed, ultra realistic depictions of decay and aging.

Max Thorek (1880-1960) was considered one of the outstanding surgeons of all time, but he was also noted as a very talented photographer, his efforts peaking in the 1930's and 1940's when he contributed mightily to the pictorialist movement. This original photograph itself measures 9 5/8" by 12 1/2" (other measurements 12 3/4" by 14 3/4" inside the outer, modern mat, and 17 3/4" by 21 3/4" as framed)...

Photo print, 22 3/4" by 19 1/8" inside the mat (31" by 27" as framed), pencil signed at lower right by the noted artist of the American West JOE BEELER (1931-2006), and numbered at lower left 58/300. The subject is a monument to the American West: a cowboy on his horse, a butte in the background as he pursues stray cattle with his lasso on a spring or late winter day. This is a clean print and is ready for the wall...

In 1970 Japanese print maker Haku Maki (1921 – 2000) produced this large Wind image. It is 84c x 84 cm; 33 " x 33" . Provenance; Maki produced this print and this copy was sold to a Japanese buyer it stayed in Japan until it came to me last week in Beijing this is one of the few times I have been able to obtain a Maki print from Japan not through a dealer. When the previous owner decided to sell he did so through an auction in Japan; then it was fully restore in Tokyo and I acquired it...

Warren Davis, American, 1865-1928, "Seated Nymph," Etching, image size 8 x 5 3/4 inches, pencil signed l.r. "Warren Davis" on wove paper. Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures. Many were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club.

Anders Zorn 1860-1920 Sweden This is an original etching by well known Swedish artist Anders Zorn. The title is: Dal River, created and printed in 1919. This impression measures 7X4 5/8 inches, printed on a medium weight laid type sheet. hand signed in pencil lower right. This image appears in the Asplund catalog as image number 284. One of his series of nude bathers that he is well known for.

Through his career, Haku Maki did a wide array of Chinese characters used in the Japanese language as well (kanji). The large prints that Daniel Tretiak called Big Reds were such kanji. Among Maki’s depictions were black kanji on white backgrounds, some stark, some playful, some easily decipherable, others with which he took great liberties. The artistic possibilities that kanji offered were a fascination of his. This broad-brushed embossed print, Poem 72-55, was done in 1972...

A print by the Japanese print maker Haku Maki, 1924-2000. He began in a career as a kamikaze pilot during world war 2. The surrender by Japan saved his life. He became a teacher and learned print making. His prints are unusual as they start with a woodblock which is carved then pressed with cement. When the cement is dried, it is carved further. A wet paper is placed on the woodblock and left to dry. The resulting image has a wonderful texture and unique embossed finish...

The Kolk is a familiar part of the center of this historic city, which suffered severe damage in World War II...

Woodblock "Calme.'truck' " by Paul Jacoulet 1941, showing two Polynesian lovers in a scenic outdoors setting. Signed in pencil "Paul Jacoulet" with a red butterfly seal with title and date. Jacoulet was born in France in 1902 but lived his entire life in Japan studying and mastering woodblock technique producing 166 masterpieces.

Lieure catalog number 278, second state of two, excellent impression of this important print. In excellent condition, framed and glazed, not examined outside of frame. Plate size 13,5 x 107 mm (5 3/8 x 4 3/16 inches), frame size 11 x 9 inches.
