Offered for the collector of Picasso's posters is an example of 1957's "Pates Blanche", created for Cannes' Galerie 57, printed by Devaye Imprimeur. Measuring 22 1/4" by 17 1/4", the poster is technically described as an offset lithograph. The blue areas look like a traditional lithograph process, while the image in gray within the circle has the tiny dots of traditional printing. This is an unframed study in pencil by a noted figure in eastern American art, XANTHUS RUSSELL SMITH (1839-1929).
