A contemporary, unsigned oil on canvasboard work, 9" by 12" (12 1/2" by 15 1/2" in simple black frame), the subject small boats at a dock, one likely a fishing boat. The work was likely painted rather rapidly by an artist of talent. It is clean and ready for the wall.
Black ink, red watercolor and white gouache drawing, unsigned, 22 1/2" by 15", unsigned, the figure playing a mandolin or lute, wearing poofy medieval-style pantaloons, and sporting a Dali-esque moustache. The drawing definitely has some age, maybe circa mid century. The camera somewhat overstates the color difference between top (more brownish) and bottom (less browned) half; I can't explain the variation...

There is only one listed artist with the last name, an (Elva) Viola Whited of Texas, which internet search reveals likely birth/death dates of 1902-1983. This could be our artist or could be someone totally unrelated...
Oil on wood panel painting of a Dutch city scene, painted in the 19th century style of artists such as Cornelius Springer, the work 16" by 20" (24" by 28" as nicely framed), signed at lower left "Shone". Watercolors on paper, each 6 1/4" by 4 1/4" inside the mats (11" by 9" overall, unframed), each signed at bottom center with the distinctive signature of California Scene artist JAKE LEE. These paintings appear to be studies of spring flowers like jonquils and perhaps asters. Jake Lee's works are increasingly sought after by collectors in the wake of his relatively recent passing. These works are clean examples in excellent condition. They should likely receive clean new mats before framing...
In 1970 the famous collector of Japanese art Felix Juda commissioned Haku Maki to produce at least 3 different sets of cards for greeting and thanks. Here we show three. The 4th image may have been one such card or a small print. I have owned it for many years and am still studying it. The ones done for Juda varied in attractiveness. The green one is vintage Maki: good design, good color, and good composition. It is only 5”x 5” but packs a wallop...
