For a time I had thought it possible that this was a work of the noted American impressionist PAUL KING (1867-1947) but I no longer believe that to be the case, so I am offering it as simply an interesting impressionistic landscape...

A dramatic early black and white photo of the Empire State Building in Manhattan, photographer unknown, the structure featuring prominently at center of the image, surrounded by the lower buildings from which it emerges. The building was completed in 1931. Some information I saw online suggests the antenna was not placed until as late as 1952. The photo dates from somewhere in that period, and very likely to the early/mid 1930's...

An ink on paper drawing in striking Surrealism style, signed with initials RM at lower left within the imagery by the noted Mexican muralist, painter and illustrator ROBERTO MONTENEGRO (1887-1968). The subject is a Dali style clock face, a skeletal hand pointing, and other strange almost biomorphic shapes completing the imagery. Written in pencil underneath the mat is "Hora Unica" (which I take to mean 1 o'clock, the bony index finger on that numeral on the clock face)...
