Eugenio Avolio 1879-1929 was know for his large commissions and his son, Luigi has carried on the tradition of his father.

Alexander Ney Russian American contemporary sculptor "Russian Egg" clay with a hole under side for mounting to a base, base not included. The artist initialed this piece "N 3" in his usual incised way. Size l nearly 2.75"" by 1.75" high. This is from a very rare group of early miniature pieces most all were initialed in this way...

A small unframed oil on Masonite painting, 8" by 10", signed at lower left indecipherably, the work a fantasy landscape painted very much in the style of acclaimed California artist Eyvind Earle (1916-2000). The neon green sunlit strip, the surreal shadows cast by rocks there, the bare tree, the hillside, all are reminiscent of Earle's work. A silvery frame might work on this. Surface is a bit dusty, and heavily varnished. There are some very light drips of something at right center.

The matching set of prints, each numbered in Roman numerals V/XX (5 of edition of only 20), measure 12 1/4" by 9 1/4" inside the mat openings, and THREE are framed, one unframed (the framed ones including the frame measuring 18" by 14"). The prints likely date to the 1960's or 1970's. Hambourg was born in Paris...

For the fans of the "Big Eye" paintings, here is a pair of mid century retro style works in oil on board, each 23 1/2" by 11 1/4", and each signed at lower right. The signatures are hard to decipher; I'm guessing "Balmiani" or "Dalmiani". If I am reading them at all correctly, I am not able to tie these names to any of the listed, recognized big eye painters. Regardless of authorship, these are sure to please the devoted big eye collector...

This appears to be an original painting on silk, circa 1960's or 1970's, 15" by 17 1/4" framed, Chinese calligraphy and red seal at left. I say "appears" because there is a Windsor Art Products label on the reverse, suggesting this would be a print or multiple of some type. Having examined it very closely, however, it does still look to me like original work, and not a silkscreen. I believe that original work was sold by Windsor, it having paid artists to create art in bulk...
