A small unframed watercolor painting of an early adobe structure of Northern California, similar to the historical, rare structures that may be seen today around the plaza in Sonoma, 7" by 9 1/2", signed at lower right by listed artist JEAN G. WALFORD (1875-1938). Walford was born in England, but was in Berkeley by 1917. She ran an art gallery until her passing in 1938. The watercolor came from an old Bay Area collection.

An as-is condition example of the work of the much-storied American artist "T. Bailey", circa 1920, measuring 19 1/2" by 29 1/2", unframed, signed at lower right corner. The scene is of an east coast forest bordering a small lake, in autumn, the leaves changing. There is an interesting story about the artist who signed so many paintings "T. Bailey"...

Watercolor on paper, 4" by 10 3/4" (8 1/4" by 15" as framed), signed at lower left with what appears as "Stribens" or "Stirbens"......I do not see a listing for such a name. I could be misreading it. In any event this is a decorative old vintage watercolor landscape by a talented artist, still in its original frame. There's no glass currently, but the work has survived the passage of time in excellent fresh condition, with only a tiny handful of foxing spots...

Indian painting of the goddess Shailaputri, in unique Navaratna style of painting from 1930s, when Indian was emerging with its own unique style of painting. Gouache delicately painted and encoded with symbols of Hindu spiritual meaning. Crescent moon is on her forehead with halo around her head. She is holding a trident and has three eyes in her forehead representing waking, dreaming and sleeping states of mind. Atmospheric and masterfully moody painting...

Watercolor on paper, unframed, unsigned, dated 1924 and titled "Col Spgs", showing old houses against a mountain backdrop. This is a beautifully executed work by an artist that I would imagine is listed, but, he didn't sign his work. The sheet measures 12" by 17 3/4". There is a sketch of a man's profile on the reverse. If you live along I-25, or even if you don't, you will appreciate this fine old drawing from Colorado Springs, where the Broadmoor art colony flourished.

A decorative print after a seventeenth century ink drawing by Dutch Golden Age painter GERBRAND VAN DEN EECKHOUT (1621-1674), titled on reverse label "Zeichner vor einem Bauernhause Sitzend" ("Artist Seated in Front of a Farmhouse"). The print measures 5 3/4" by 7 3/4" (15 3/4" by 17" framed). The brownish ink and pebbled paper creates a very convincing piece that could almost be mistaken for an actual old drawing...

Original impressionist oil on panel by Paul Hagemans. He was born in Antwerp in 1884, the son of the celebrated landscape painter Maurice Hagemans. He received early artistic instruction from his father but at the age of fifteen enrolled at the Academy of Antwerp.
