ANTHONY THEIME-1888-1954; DUTCH/AMERICAN SCENE IN HOLLAND; Oil on Canvas; Signed lr A Theime Thieme was born in Rotterdam, Holland in 1888;and trained at the Royal Academy in Holland and in Italy and Germany. He was a painter, a teacher and an ardent traveler. In 1917, he came to America and settled in Rockport, MA where he established and taught at the Thieme School of Art. One sees the influence of his travels in the various subject matters and scenes he paints...

In 1970 Japanese print maker Haku Maki (1921 – 2000) produced this large Wind image. It is 84c x 84 cm; 33 " x 33" . Provenance; Maki produced this print and this copy was sold to a Japanese buyer it stayed in Japan until it came to me last week in Beijing this is one of the few times I have been able to obtain a Maki print from Japan not through a dealer. When the previous owner decided to sell he did so through an auction in Japan; then it was fully restore in Tokyo and I acquired it...

ALBERT WEBSTER DAVIES 1889-1967 AMERICAN FARM WITH COWS GRAZING IN A PASTURE Oil on Canvas; Signed lower left: Davies AWD lived most of his life in New Hampshire. He is known for his genre scenes which he paints in a naive style. He is listed in many art reference books including The Artists Bluebook and Davenport's Art Reference. Antique Manuscript cover gifted to Baber, Founder of Indian Mughal Empire, The great grandson of Tamerlane, Babar, who on his mother's side was descended from the famous Genghiz Khan, came to India in 1526 at the request of an Indian governor who sought Babar's help in his fight against Ibrahim Lodi, the last head of the Delhi Sultanate. Babar defeated Lodi at Panipat, not far from Delhi, and so came to establish the Mughal Empire in India...

THOMAS CRESWICK R A; 1811-1869; BRITISH CROSSING THE STREAM; Oil on Canvas Thomas Creswick was a British landscape painter. Among his most favorite subjects were English and Welsh streams and British rural scenery. He exhibited in many art venues including the Royal Academy and the British Institute of Art. Although the painting is not signed, there is an old brass plaque on the frame which, along with the style, leads us to believe that it is likely a Creswick

He died in Noank, CT in 1980. Brackman was a painter and an educator. He studied at the National Academy of Art in NY under George Bellows and Robert Henri. A Fine Mountain Landscape Painting, probably from the 1930's or earlier. Measures about 24" by 16", in its frame of about 26 1/2" by 18 1/2". Signed lower right by the artist, it looks like "Chas Lowe". Great look.
