Rare Boti or vegetables cutter, like any good kitchen utensil this has a multipurpose function, as it can be used as a coconut scraper on the end of the hand forged blade. This one is circa late 19th century from Tamil Nadu. The end of the cutter has been made into the shape of a bird with “floral” patterns carved into t5he wood. A silver plated shallow dish by the famed French firm CHRISTOFLE, 6 5/8" diameter, about 7/8" high. The marks on the bottom show this to have been produced between 1935 and 1983, most likely towards the middle or later portion of that period. The piece is toned and has surface scratching as shown in the images.

A pastel and watercolor on paper drawing of a Native American Indian, unframed, 30" by 20", signed at lower right by the artist, the signature appearing as "F. Davis", and the adjacent date as 3/84. The artist was talented. Condition is good, lower left corner is separating from the Crescent art board backing, there having been some slight moisture exposure there at some time in the past.
