Antique, 19th century, Indo-Persian, Northern Indian, Islamic or Sikh shield Dhal of circular convex form with upturned rim, made of hand-hammered solid brass elaborately hand-chiseled with figures of various animals and humans among the profusely chiseled foliate patterns.
The front is set with a crescent moon and four domed bosses, affixed on the reverse by four ring bolts for straps (to hold the shield).

This charming grouping of FOUR vintage, wooden, Black Railroad Porter and Mammy clothes brushes were all made in the 1930's by the Rhody Brush Company of Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
All of these colorful brushes have natural bristles, and range in height from 7.5 inches and 8 inches tall to the smaller, 4.5 inches tall, green and red-dressed little Mammy brushes.
