A small (5 3/4" by 4 3/4" framed) printed poem titled "Mother Dear", with a sentimental message of the period, circa early 1930's. The gold paint and faint color at bottom appear to be hand-applied. On reverse is written in pencil "Billy/May 13 1934", and an old period framer's label from downtown Los Angeles adds further charm. A sweet item.

I do not have the original box the item came in. The item is in mint condition. The Spanish name is Damita de Pie. It is item # 01005590. It was issued in 1989 and retired in 1993. It is 7" tall and glazed.

This antique cast iron horse drawn fire truck consists of a horse drawing a water pumper driven by a fireman molded into his seat. The toy c. 1900 - 10 and attributed to Shimer, Son & Company, a small Pennsylvania toy firm which was active from the 1890s to perhaps as late as 1920. The underside is embossed with 1075, presumably a model number. This model is nickel plated. The condition is good, having around 20-25% paint loss, wobbly wheels, two of which are missing hub caps...

A whimsical swirled enamel sewing kit etui with original blue silk tassel, circa 1930, Made in Germany The brass base etui multicolored in shades of gray, white, blue and red, opens to reveal a tiny sewing kit including thread on a spool with a place for needles under the cap and a brass thimble. Size: 2" long. Overall good condition with the exception of some minor enamel loss.

Very funny Black Americana toy from Spain - Pancho Borracho (Translates as Drunk Pancho (or literal translation is "Drunk Hotdog"). Original Box with great graphics on it, top flap is present but has come away from the box. I believe you have to put the legs through the body, they go different directions and then the weight goes over the table and figure wobbles like drunk person!!! Pair of rare antique late 17th century or early 18th century, Islamic Persian Safavid dynasty saddle stirrups entirely hand forged from a single piece of thick solid iron. Each arched form is adorned with incised decoration rising to a strap loop, at the top flanked by two opposing swan heads with the eyes inlaid with turquoises stones and oval footplate...

A striking hand carved sculpture of a female, likely mid to late 20th century, measuring approximately 17 3/4" in height and 6" in width. When you look at the work, it is easy to see how Picasso, Vlaminck, Derain and Matisse were so influenced by African sculpture. The face and profile of the head are classic; they remind of the haunting, brooding, mysterious, giant stone figures of remote Easter Island in the Pacific.
