The 8 1/2" by 6" blue hard cover copy, published by New Connections, Norfolk, Connecticut is in acceptable good but not fine condition due to sunning of the spine and other evidence of cover wear. A copy of "Many Long Years Ago", 4th edition, 1945, in original dust jacket, HAND SIGNED in blue ink by the noted American poet of light verse, OGDEN NASH (1902-1971). The copy retains a dust jacket which shows its age. Nash was known for his unique poetic style.
An interesting example of cultural exchange around WWII. This book was originally published in 1936; this 1947 printing from Tokyo, while Japan was still occupied and recovering from the destruction of war, is of inferior quality as a book but a fascinating historical artefact. Broken binding reveals what appears to be re-purposed newspaper used in the creation. Covers feel to be cardboard or similar.

There are 244 pages filled with black and white illustrations, sketches, color photos of finished products a person might sew, etc. The text teaches everything one would want/need to know about one's sewing machine and about how to sew anything. It is a great collectible and very informative...
