Hardcover book with sayings and observation interpreted by Lebanese American author and artist Kahlil Gibran (1883 - 1931) most known for his first work The Prophet published in 1923 which became one of the best selling books of the 20th C. and still in print today...

"Italian Primitives at Yale with Comments and Revisions written by Richard Offner, Professor in the History of Fine Arts at New York University. The book has green decorative boards with gilt design and lettering on the tan spine. Published by Yale in 1927. Illustrated with plates. Former library copy with stamps. The front free paper is clipped, a corner text block is smudged and the boards show wear especially at the edges, and there is a very small tear on the bottom of one page. Sold as is.

A couple of small slight discolorations on cover. Interior very clean except for small label at back for Brentano's book store in New York City, and attempt by previous owners to erase price.

A small olive green linen hard cover published by Oxford at the Clarendon Press in 1923. Owner's name is inscribed. The cover shows some staining and minor splitting at the spine. There is also some foxing on the back pastedown.

Published in 1925 by the Government Printing Office, Washington, here is a rare copy of memorial addresses given to the 68th Congress.The black silk boards show modest wear with some light smudging. The book is a tad musty otherwise in fine condition. 44pp.

"... in defense of Richard Loeb and Nathan Leopold, Jr. on trial for murder..." "Authorized and revised edition" Published by Ralph Fletcher Seymour, Fine Arts Building Chicago. Tan paper cover featuring a red and black pictorial design. The front and back covers have small tears, smudges and have separated. The pages are uncut and one or two have small tears. Acceptable condition with no script.121 pp.

Unstated first edition published in 1920 by Harcourt, Brace and Company. Green boards with red lettering. The text block is uncut and there is a name written in ink on the front inside board. Otherwise a nice tight copy.

Edition du Centenaire, illustrated by Frederic Montenard, Paris, 1930, with later half blue Morocco binding with a six panel tooled spine having a tooled gilt decoration of a bee, marbled boards and original wraps bound in.

A small hard cover published by Charles Scribner in 1925. The paper boards show some wear at the corners and top of spine,notes are written on the front pastedown and back end paper, and the owner's name is written in ink on the front free paper.

This is the 1929 tome, measuring about 13" by 11", published by Mitchell Kennerley of New York, listing the total of then known graphic works by the major American painter Arthur Bowen Davies (1862-1928), compiled by Frederic Newlin Price. Price wrote in the front "For Dano (sp.?) Lorini (sp.?) ---with the best wishes and and (sic.) delightful confidence in the hope for art in America Frederic Newlin Price"...

The Etchings of Frank Brangwyn fine arts book 1912. This large and vintage 13-1/2" x 10-1/2" art book is entitled "Catalogue of The Etched Work of Frank Brangwyn", published in 1912 by the London Fine Art Society Ltd. This book has a cloth and leather board cover with an applied gold-stamped leather title panel on the spine; it has 139 pages and it is profusely illustrated with tissue-covered etching reproductions...

This lot includes three Anthony Trollope books all published by Dodd Mead & Co., New York. Phineas Redux Vol. I was published in 1913 and Vol. III in 1910. Dr. Thorne Vol.I was published in 1914. The owner's name is inscribed on the front free paper of all three books and the red boards show modest wear.

A French (seventh edition) published by Mercvre de France in 1911. Volume 2 apparently of a set. There are leather boards with marbled endpapers. The pages have yellowed and there is a remnant of a label on the front pastedown.214pp
