The book is in excellent condition with the exception of a small tear on the side of one page (see photo) and an inscription in pencil on the front free paper (where there is light foxing). The top pages are uncut. Blue boards with a gilt lettering and bands.

This old tourist travel booklet describes the many places to visit in Mozambique while it was a colony under Portuguese rule. 46 pages ...size 5.5 x 8.75 inches .... There are about 40 black and white photos including one 22 inch long foldout of the capital city of Lourenco Marques. 3 color photos...lions, zebras, and elephants. This booklet is a treasure chest of information for anyone interested in African History

An interesting view of the monumental Hagia Sophia rising above houses on either side and a man standing in a square(?) that is probably some distance from the mosque but with the perspective appears quite close. No writing in the negative and the identification of the view in pencil appears later than the image which is around 1880. It is attached to a thin paper page that from the roughness of the back side might have been an album page that was separated. The mat is protective...

A sepia toned silver print of a Bedouin shepherd with his flock grazing on sparsely covered ground below a hill. In the lower right corner is the blind stamp, “American Colony/Jerusalem.” The original dates from around 1920 and this would appear to be a print of roughly that age. The Number 161 is stamped on the back. The photograph is 8 ¼ x 11 ¼ inches includes a thin margin.

The Karla Caves are a group of ancient Indian Buddhist rock-cut caves located in Karli near Lonavala, Maharashtra. The one pictured is the Great Chaitya. It was dedicated in 120 CE. The photographer of this image is unknown...

An antique book published in 1898 by Velhagen & Klasing, Verlag. The tan linen boards feature embossed black and gold gilding. There is a tiny tear on the title page and the end papers are missing. Possibly an eighth edition, the text is in German.

This 246 page 12 x 9" soft cover book is entitled THE COMING AND GOING OF THE SHAMAN ESKIMO SHAMANISM AND ART and it was published by the Winnipeg Art Gallery for their Mar. 11 - June 11, 1978 exhibition. Profusely illustrated in black and white and colour, this book is in very good condition with foldback creases on the soft cover and some minor unobstructive surface abrasions on the cover from sliding against other books (very minor)...

Loch Duich is a sea loch on the west coast of Scotland. The title includes the number 799 and the initials G.W.W. for George Washington Wilson (Scottish, 1823-1893). General view with the Snows(?) from Woodland’s Hotel.” Presumably, “the Snows” are the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas that show more as a line of clouds, but are visible in the distance.
